It's gonna be a lopsided win for sure.

So do the Scottish players wear kilts when they play? Ya' know...like field hockey.

Come to think of it...I believe they do wear kilts.
    ;)

And the players on the bench play bagpipes at halftime.
    :D

I was discussing this with phats the other day. If it's anything short of downright embarassing I'll be surprised. I think I said 5-0 USA. That's being modest.

I mean, I've never seen Scotland play, but I don't think they've ever played a team like ours.

The important question: how many goals is Julie Fleeting going to score? ;)

You actually think she is going to score?

Actually, I'm probably on the wrong board for this. There were some folks over on the WUSA.com boards claiming that Julie Fleeting was better than Mia Hamm because she was catching up so quickly in scoring goals in international play.

I don't think she's going to pick up any ground this time out.

That little comparison drew a big  from me the first time I read that.

Scotland has never played a top tier opponent. Fleeting scores lots of goals on crappy teams.
IMO the little I saw of her this season left much to be desired. The next Mia Hamm she is not. She looked a bit outclassed a few times. One instance in particular vs Brandi Chastian comes to mind.

She could very well end her career with more goals than Mia. If Scotland continues to limit themselves to playing bottom rung teams.

Oh my I sound a bit hatefull huh? Oh well just my 2cents.

    Oh yeah forgot something...

    12-0 USA!

Mia and Mac will score 6 or seven between them.
CP will get a couple. And If Kate plays flank defender look for her to finally get one. GO KATE!!
Abby should figure in on the scoring too.

Siri will get the shut out.

I really enjoy those hard faught games against China and Norway. However I do so love a good ass kicking!

Ladies and gents Scotland WILL recieve their baptism by fire on Sunday!!!

The first time I saw how many goals she had scored, I looked to see who they had played. Sure, goal scoring is goal scoring, but when you're playing crap teams like Scotland plays, that's not exactly fairplay, if you ask me. Of course, no one asked me...

Mia is Mia and I have yet to see another Mia...so...I'll get off my podium now

Easy there mates !!! Now don't get me wrong...I am as American as they come and I want my country to do well on Sunday...but the Scots will not be a push-over !!! Do I think they will win ??? Prolly not...but Julie is a world class striker and they have one HELL of a goalkeeper ;) OK, so maybe I am a bit biased as I worked with the girl this summer...but she still rocks ! So what if Fleeting's goals haven't come against top tier programs...finishing is finishing my friends...it is not an easy thing to do, no matter who your opponent is.

Anyways, that being said...I am going against everything I have ever believed and I am hoping for a draw this one time...even though I know that ain't gonna happen. As long as Shannon Mac has a good match and my bud Gem doesn't get crushed...I'll be a happy camper :)

The USWNT has played two matches in which they scored 12 goals...Mexico and Martinique way, way, way back in the days.

They've scored 11 on Trinidad and Tobago twice.

10 goals against TnT, Haiti, and Jamaica.

I suspect the USWNT will be adding Scotland to that pretigious list on Sunday.

Everybody's having fun predicting lots of goals but there IS another possible scenario. Remember Finland? When the other team puts all 11 players behind the ball and bunkers back we don't always score much. Scotland is not comparable to a team like T&T. They will know the basics of playing the game.

If this plays out like most other games.... we can count on at least 2 or 3 of Lilly's shots hitting the cross bar and/or posts..... so lessen the total goals by 2 or 3.

I'm rooting for Lil to get one..and something says.. maybe Joy is ready to score....... a great header...

Yeah it would be cool for Joy to score a goal in this match but neither her or Millie are in Cowlumbus this week. They were not named to the camp roster.
