If tevez wanted to have no chance atplaying for Argentina.... Really this is a joke how these company whore out players of great caliber like Tevez and Macherano...

    Yawn.

    Thx,

    Jay!

On second thought, how about this from the article (and it's actually DC United-related and not just someone posting a wish-list).

    Thx,

    Jay!

I made a half-joke/post-count+1 post about it in the Beckham rule thread :)

I'd love to have Tevez, but lets be realistic....these rumors make me laugh.

I dunno. It's never really been thought about because it seemed like an impossibility, but if for some reason Tevez wound up here and Argentina still thought as much of him then as they do now, I don't know why they'd stop calling him up. I'd think they prefer it to the current situation. They would even benefit from shorter travel times.

And if a player like Tevez came here enough folks might follow to make it much less of a joke league in public opinion. If the "tipping point" philosophy is correct (I don't think it is, but other smart people on here do), a boom could happen.

I dunno, seems like there's uncharted waters ahead and it's going to be hard to be accurate with predictions of the future.

Tevez's and Macherano's contracts aren't tied to West Ham United - They're tied to a prospective owner/investor/frontman of West Ham - A lot of diehard West Ham fans, while estatic over the new arrivals, don't necessarily like that fact - And wow, is the whole team underperforming - A lot of unhappy fans - A lot of unhappy players - Tevez and Macherano could be moving on anywhere

Anywhere there's a ton of money and anywhere their owner thinks he could make a better deal - I doubt that its here - Maybe Red Bull or Chivas USA have the extra resources to pry either away, but thats the kind of money we're talking about - NOT a measly $1M

Would either of them be a good addition? - No brainer - Just extremely unlikely here or anywhere in MLS

Yeah, Tevez! That's a good idea. And after we sign him maybe everyone can have a pony!

Tevez in MLS??? Puhhlease! He'll go back to Brasil or Argentina before even considering the States. And replace Jaime?! Umm, hello, Jaime simply cannot be replaced...he's just simply too cool of a cat. In terms of obtaining a new and crafty forward...well, I don't agree with all of this Brasilian jive floatin' around. I've heard rumors that Bruno Marioni (Argentinian and Mexican league's best goalscorer...bling, bling!) wants to leave Mexico, 'cause he feels unsafe playing there with all of the family kidnappings going on. Rumor has it that he's interested in MLS cause it's safe and stuff, but this was Canales reporting, so it's probably b/s. Anyway, Marioni and Eskandarian would light things up and piss off RBNJ fans for years to come...:p

Then we would not have to worry about losing our young guns to Europe, b/c no one would leave a country full of ponies!

I really don't see why talking up somthing like this is a joke. Why must we always cut our team down. DC albeit a reativly new organization is a good one. I think we deserve a bit more respect than we, or others give. Having said that, I think that with all of the talk about Beckham to L.A., and the fact that we have a new owner coming in, that might want to make a splash with signing a new high profile player, talk of Tevez is somwhat reasonable.

And the $30M price tag on his head, as rumor would have us believe when they were transferred to West Ham...

    Just sayin' is all.

    Thx,

    Jay!
