im sort of a geek I know but theres many current events forums, and the Politics forum often becomes sort of a defacto history forum all on its own. how about a dedicated history forum.

I don't know how much I could contribute, but I would love to lurk on that forum. I am all for this. Please do this, because I know there are a bunch of people on here well educated in history.

I can contribute lots of European and military history, and I think our European counterparts can too.

    I'm for it. :)

    Or just curious as hell!

Or, not to mention, think they know what is true about history. That can't be all bad, can it? ;)

I'm cool about a history forum... not so much about a religion one.

Why not just a BigOffTopic.com where registered BigSoccer users could go, and not have to re-register because it would be the same registration, the same TOS, etc. Just instead of having a big off-topic section getting larger and larger, just create a whole other set of forums on a different forum jump?

Seriously. Something like that could be done. There'd be a link in BS forum jump to go to Big Off-Topic, and a link in BOT (yeah, bad acronym, I know) to go back to BS.

That way, you can have whatever the hell off-topic forums you want, but not have it clutter up the forum index of a soccer site.

I can only imagine what a Religion forum would turn into.

History, however, I would like that...

In theory, it sounds quite interesting. But it could only turn into a smack-fest; a lower form of the politics board. It's opening a pandora's box, if you ask me. Besides, PCE pretty much covers religion issues.

wow, I'm with ITN on something. (the history part)

and, I'm sorry, a religion forum would NEVER work here. Look how f'd up the Politics forum is...could you imagine religion which some people take WAY too seriously? Wow. Bad news.

im all for a history fourm also...........in fact it's a pass time of mine.

however i dont half get the feeling that it will be mainly used as platform to discuss religion and politics down through the ages, because after all thats really what history is all about...really.

I'd love a history forum, but it would have to be well moderated to make sure it stays History based and doesn't get too extreme. People should be allowed to express their views but not in the way some people on here do.
