But the second view, I wasn't as sure it was as out of control as the article makes it sound, but I'm not a referee expert, so figured I'd ask you folk.
The article seems to be just a tad biased. Bad tackle. I could see SFP here but I would most likely have gone with the yellow as well. The biggest thing for me that could bump this up was that the defender raised his leg at the end of the tackle.
The article is biased. The writer is clearly stretching what we [referees] mean by "both feet". I could not even call that a scissors move really, although the movement was somewhat similar. It was from behind, but the article seems to imply that from behind, by itself, is worthy of a send off. Clearly this guy hears referees talk a lot and is using the right vocabulary, but is twisting their application to suit his desired outcome. No, this is a caution with a stern admonishment.
