Yep, like I said on the other thread, the ref was horrible, the turf was awful, I don't like the Toronto players, I was very glad to get away fromt here with one point.

One point on the road is rarely bad. I didn't see the game (Saturday class) but I'll take a road point almost any day. Nice to finally get back home...at least as far as league competition goes. 1 W, 1 D, 2 L in this 4 game road trip. Not spectacular but it still averages out to a point per road game. Like I said, I'll take that.

About as good a result as you could hope for given the circumstances.

A point was a good result today. I thought we played decent today, especially with so many regulars out.

I do not like TFC. I don't really like any teams but they have a real group of jerks on that squad.

It's disappointed the Dynamo didn't convert their early chances. Not sure if it's just the turf but I want to see Ashe get by the first defender. He needs to learn from Mullan on how to do this in one-on-one situations.

Yea, during the game I was thinking they seem to accumulate all the players I've learned to hate through the years. And they have no one I really like.

    Except for DeRo.

    That's a fair observation.

In DeRo's defense though there is a difference between World Cup Qualifying and Gold Cup (where the winner goes to the Confed Cup) and this year's Gold Cup.

I think it is also fair to observe that the Gold Cup two years ago was the big deal version -- rather than this years minor version -- and that last year it was World Cup Qualifying. More than just DeRo's club changed. This summer's gold cup is basically meaningless friendly tournament useful only for player development.

Edit: Oops. I just saw the previous post. I'm embarassed that MLSNHTON said it so much shorter.

Given this GC's status I thought Ching could have asked to stay with the Dynamo. However, If BB wants him then BC has to go given he has a shot at South Africa.

To be fair, even some of the TFC players were gobbled up by the turf. Awful pitch.

Bummed about Mulrooney being out for awhile.

Dynamo keep plugging along and players keep stepping up when needed.

Reminds me a lot of our first season and we know how that ended up.

I'm pretty sure non-TFC Canadians would have wanted him playing. It's not like the state of the Canadian NT is so good that they blow off a tournament based on not getting into Confed Cup. It's still a trophy, and they dont have much to look forward to for the next two years.

I'm sure a part of it has to do with TFC giving him the raise that the Dynamo would not give him (I think, at least for future years). He's missing the All-Star Game to play in a CCL prelim round game so clearly he's got loyalty to the team (although he still gets an All-star bonus).

From watching some of the Canada Gold Cup games, it looked to me on the surface that pretty much every other top Canada player under 40 participated in the tourney, including DeGuzman.

I kind of come down in the middle, this year's Gold Cup is kind of a nuisance tourney because of WCQ and the busy schedule of players and that it is later in the summer than usual because of the Confed Cup (Jay Heaps finished the game last night for the US, if that tells you anything).

Did you notice his (lack of) celebration after he scored? I thought he was showing a lot of respect to the boys.

I also thought he showed a lot of class after the goal.

As far as the record on the road trip, I'm thrilled. A point a game on the road is always good, but immensely more so over this stretch where we played rosters loaded with 2nd and even 3rd string players due to injury and call up.

If we can just get healthy at the right time...

Kei Kamara needs a haircut. Funny he kept checking his hair whenever this chant went. You can kinda make it out on this vid

Liked the MLS theme: Homer Ref calls....

Last week the ref was giving goals to the home team. And in this week's edition it was impossible for the home team to earn a second yellow....

I had enough of Dicky-O getting call after call by backing up into our defenders, then falling. Whata joke. Ref was a cheat! LOL!

1pt on the road I'll take it.

At least we'll be getting Hainault back...

you actually like Kamara's haircut? lol

you may think it's unimaginative, but it got a reaction out of Kamara and he lost his cool a bit.

it also got about 1/3 of the entire stadium involved in that chant, which incls a lot of soccer moms.
if it's stupid, but it works, then it's not stupid

So why don't those homer refs ever call games in Houston? I'm just asking. All refs are cheats. MLS is a cheat.

Somehow, I think if Kei didn't lose his cool discovering that Nick Garcia went so far stalking him that he dressed up like a Toronto player to try to get him more red cards, fines and suspensions, he's not going to be bothered by some Canadians teasing him about his hair.....

I'm sure there are some homer call in Houston although the past two games have been a little ridiculous IMO.

Toronto player pulls down Dynamo player to earn 1st yellow, does it again gets nothing, few mins later Dynamo pulls down Toronto FC player to earn yellow. It was flat out silly. There were more examples that was just one that stood out in my mind.

The "Ref was a cheat" comment was a little more tongue in cheek reference to Bring Ching.

Yea, I know. But it seems like we get so few calls going our way at home too.
