Big big game. I agree with (4+3)3: If you want a successful season (Top-4 finish in the table) then this game has to be won. Vancouver obviously on a strong run of form.
Dorsey may be my new favorite player. Starting to believe that he has genuinely hit another level of development.
Great win, Herrera won’t play Saturday, that ankle gonna swell up after game. Dynamo showed up (crowd didn’t - including me) and this team looks fresh
Boys, we are kinda good! 1st goal was flukey, 2nd was just masterclass, 3rd was incredible, 4th was strange. Sad Clark didn't get the clean sheet. When that Vancouver player got into a pushing match with HH, boy, you ain't gonna leave the H in one piece if you mess with our Captain! I'm the biggest Elis fan on the planet, but HH is my favorite player ever. The quality, the pure quality is just amazing to behold. You want more good news boys, Messi and Alba are both hurt and we play them in 7 days. You want more good news? We have already qualified for the CCL. You want even more good news? We are in 4th! Now some bad news, we kinda sorta, OMG it kills me to type this, we need Frisco to win against Seattle. I just threw up a little in my mouth. As always, ForeverOrange till I die, f Frisco, and dale dale Dynamo!
Third goal. HH. Holy shite. What a PLAY!!!! Winning that ball in the air in midfield and laying it perfectly in front of Smith. WOW! Just Wow! Man I am impressed by his play. I thought VAN did a great job clogging midfield and disrupting the Dynamo progression. They constantly got pressure on the ball and prevented the time to play the ball over the top to Dorsey or Nelson who often looked like were on for it -- but we just could not find the time to look up like that. So I thought it was a good win against a good team despite not looking our best. Fantastic result.
What a Wednesday! The manner in which our city's Dynamo and Astros won yesterday was incredible!!! What a day! All go! No quit!!! FOREVER ORANGE!!!
Last night was the 12th league win of the year and gets the Dynamo to 43 points. That's the most wins since the 2019 season which also had 12 but its the most points since the 13 win 2017 season that ended with 50 points. The 2012/2013 seasons with 14 wins and over 50 points are within reach this year.
I have no earthly idea what Ol Ben was doing leaving HH out there. Just plain stupid. Sorry to all the Baird fans, but I'm out on trying to think he's anything but average. Last night was example A of how he almost always plays. HH is next level and we are lucky to see him in orange. It's the little things with him that impress me the most and his general professionalism that he exudes. That ref last night was trash and HH was in his ear all night long letting him know about it which is exactly what a captain should do. Arguably the most well rounded player we've ever had suit up for us. Dorsey has indeed become a player that the opposition has to account for and game plan around. He's found his confidence and he's filled the hole we have at the forward position of some one who can go 1v1, distribute and score. Good the see Teenage back out there. He still makes some weird decisions, but his athleticism is an asset & his height is much needed on set pieces. A good...no great win last night & I think the rest of the league is finally taking notice. We certainly of a promise of a true post season run & I'm looking forward to the rest of the year. PS What is this drinking to celebrate thing that I find myself doing now???
The moment we went up 3 HH should have been pulled. So much runs through him and he doesn't have a replacement. Ridiculous decision to keep him out there.
On June 24th, I predicted we would finish with 59 points, we won't get there, but we could get to 50. 3 straight home games and pick up a point on the road. BTW, how does it feel to be able to actually get excited about a road game now? Before I would just watch till we went down by 3 and call it a night, but we are team to be reckoned with.
Regarding HH. I understand the point being made, and I'm not trying to argue against pulling him. But I will point out that in these games when the Dynamo gain a lead Olsen is moving HH higher, having Baird or Bassi or whomever play a more defensive role and taking that burden off of HH so much. It is a role where HH does not have to run near as much. HH is staying high allowing the ball to bypass him. BTW, I am guessing it is a totally new thing for HH in his career to do that.
He has excelled at everything asked of him this year. He has done it all. Last night, when he was fouled on Aliyu's goal he was playing as a 9. He plays as a 10, as a 6 as well when needed. He is incredible to watch, and I'm truly proud he is wearing my clubs badge. HH is just special. I'll tell you what amazes me, every MLS player is capable of doing this but don't do it every time, with HH the ball just dies at his feet. No matter how hard it was coming it just stops. He has insane control. Watch Francos goal, it was started by this insane head pass from HH. Having played the game, and currently coaching it, the control of professional players is what amazes me the most. It's superhuman.
