We kinda own these guys so any points left on the table will be inexcusable. Time to win at home and handle a team that you are used to beating.
MLS Multiplex has an in-depth write-up about Real Salt Lakes game model. Could be a good read before Saturday’s game. https://mlsmultiplex.com/posts/real...otsteps-with-new-strategy-in-mls-01j7hw44d4eg
Dynamo still alive for P4 -- but just barely. After today's games, P4 in the West is still currently at 57 point finish. So the Dynamo need to finish 4-1-1 to get there. Win the three remaining home games, beat Austin next Saturday in Q2, then draw or win at either SEA or STL. Would be an Epic finish to the season.
It’s not out of the question. Vancouver is traveling a long way on a short week. New England is the 2nd worst team in the league, also traveling a long way on a short week. LAG would certainly be a challenge but decision day is sort of isolated from the rest of the schedule this year so you can treat it like a final in a sense. Kind of wild that there are 3 home games left on 9/15.
This VCW game is huuuuuge. Bigly even. A true 6 pointer. It cannot be drawn either. VCW is the most likely team for the Dynamo to dislodge out of top-4.
This is why I’ve been ringing alarm bells since June. The West is much more difficult in 2024 than in 2023.
so many of our goals seem to be of the ping pong in the box "oh look what I've found!" variety. The distribution from Clark, the skilled take down and lay off by Blessing and the calm work around by Ponce was a rare & great exception Any word on HH and his hammy? nice win and will make some others teams look twice before wanting to play us. PS we really do own those magic underwear fools and I'm here for it!
Great home victory! Good atmosphere all night as well. Attacking down the spine and as well look to get open out wide, then finish your chances. Oddly enough this type of Route 1 soccer works in MLS! Have you noticed these latest RSL jerseys look like someone took their traditional all white away jerseys and urinated on them to turn them into yellow piss color! RSL traditional white away RSL current away
General Manager, Pat Onstad, of the @HoustonDynamo, just told us @FOX26Houston, that the Grade one hamstring pull of Hector Herrera will keep him out of the lineup for roughly 2-3 weeks. Also said they hope to get Herrera back in time for the playoffs…— Nate Griffin (@NateGriffFOX26) September 17, 2024
Not sure we have much of a choice on that at this point. I’ll just point out, no team has ever won MLS Cup outside of P4 finish. If you really want a playoff run — the team will have to have an unprecedented winning finish to the regular season without HH. I think it’s a long shot but long shots do happen everyonce in a while. Lets Go! Beat the pale hats!
