We are back! Should be a comfortable win to get the second half of the season off and running. Really looking forward to seeing our new forward give the enemy defense something to do. Let's get this done
The last time DC came to Houston was a 2-1 win for the Dynamo back in 2019. DC United, at one time, was the go to Gold Standard for success in MLS. That has faded in time but our club is12-1-2 against them over these 20 seasons. I mean marinate on that, just one loss to a fellow long time MLS club over our 20 seasons! It's the feeling of accomplishment a Dynamo junkie gets when thinking of the complete opposite of Gamba Osaka! HA!
Umm. That was horrific missed opportunity. DCU quit as soon as the game started and just wanted out of the sauna. But if your going to hand them a point they will take it. Bright spot? The move that created the Boguzs miss was the best attacking move I've seen from the Dynamo this year. So apropos that Boguzs whiffed on the finish. We just don't see movement like that anymore. Dynamo had 1.2xG from all that possession, field tilt, and 33 touches inside the box. That is pathetic. Look at this momentum chart! DCU (.99) actually has a higher xGOT than the Dynamo (.72)! xGOT is designed to be a measure of the quality of shots on target. So United 1 shot on target was better than all the shots on target the Dynamo could muster with all that advantage. That is pathetic. In my view, the technical staff need to seriously think about what they are doing. This team does not know how to attack and create chances. Almost every attack ends with slow ball movement and give the ball to Guillerme and see if he can create something. There is almost zero combination play and creative running off the ball. Finally, I think the team has to start asking whether Boguzs is a bust and needs to be moved on from. Its not just the whiff -- its the offsides calls, the turnovers, and the selfish poor attempts on goal when he has better passing options.
WTF?? After being out all this time, this is what you show up and do?? F*ck off. I've been a critic of Ol Bens addiction to prioritizing passing the ball over everything else. It got worse. It seems he watched Spain in the WC and now has an erection lasting longer than four hours! Why the hell do we pass the ball to death to just get to the top of the box and fizzle out? It seemed like the plan was to try to get some cute three pass combo into the box and set up a touch in for a goal. This clearly didn't happen, and once it didn't, we had no other ideas. This was the worst game I think I've seen from Enali & I think it's cuz he wasn't allowed to speed down the line, losing his mark, accepting a long pass and then crossing or cutting in. He was relegated to a safety valve that then was forced to go 1v1 against a defender that had time to set up and use support. Guilherme being used as a CAM? He seemed relegated to the top of the box and used as a swing passer and facilitator instead of a box attacker. Did he even have a shot? All this would have been different had Bogusz scored. The one attempt that he had 1v1 against the keeper was pitiful. He had multiple chances but just couldn't get it done. Unacceptable. I'd rather have Lingr in that position. He has the same industry and shot potential but costs us way less. The Duncan Dude seemed awake and adequate but I saw nothing special. Hard to tell however seeing as how the plan was to nearly always make 20 passes in the center of the field and never over the top to a guy who has his size. Props to HH for calmly placing a ball into the back of the net instead of trying some howitzer that ends up in row z. Professional goal. Giving up a goal to them right out of a break is another sign of bad coaching. Not being trained to stay awake is amateur. PS I was really kinda excited to see this new lineup with everyone healthy and weeks to prepare. Shame on me PPS The dummies that ensured that the league logo was not only backwards but inside out encapsulates everything
