I've always liked orange, the astros used to be orange. The Oilers used to be sky blue. So how about orange and sky blue? Now will the name be FC Houston, or FC Texas?
something like this: MLS could really use a green jersey. It would, at least, be popular with the Mexican-Americans in Houston.
MLS does need a team wearing Green, but since "Home Depot" has become a major sponsor of Team Houston, I'd be very surprised if they don't use orange. The 'made up' kits are in the New '06-'07 Adidas style that the rest of the MLS will be using. I just took the new Columbus Crew kits, changed the name and made them orange. So it would be very easy for Adidas to make them.
I would say if it's Apollos... Go, White with Black vertical stripes. Balck shorts. gold trim and lettering. Away go silver with with black trim and lettering.
i guess they also. had a late shipment of understandability? you bought. too many periods. and now use them too. often.
Maroon/Orange... ie ROMA/VaTech. (then again, someday when I'm a billionaire and own my team in Detroit, those'll be the colors there...)
I voted orange. But seriously, ANYTHING but some kind of blue, some kind of red, and or white or black. But, sadly, this is Texas, and there's that damn red, white and blue thing. FCD has the red and white hoops, so I'd lay odds that we're gonna get yet one more blue team. Even though the Quakes were blue.
The PJ's are gone this year. Also, it was never our original color. I don't really care what color they wear as long as they don't hijack the revs kit. Thems fightin' color selections! However, if I were to start my own MLS franchise, I would go with a light orange (not at all florescent) jersey and black shorts. I'm not starting my own team so that adidas rep needs to get off my back!
I'd be happy with a forest green jersey or orange. If anyone can would they mind photoshopping the above image and putting orange where the white is just so I can visualize it. I think I remember green and orange not going well together, but its unique, and deserves a look .
In praise of purple. You know, I was watching Saprissa at the FIFA world club championship this weekend and thought their white and purple (or violet) uniforms looked pretty cool, too. Plus, they also have a home stadium with FieldTurf.
Werder Bremen from germany have green/orange uniforms. http://www.werder-online.de/english/team/entrants.php Here is a very quickly done orange/green version. And an orange/white version of the same jersey.
i like the idea of having a half black/orange kit like the one PSV Eindhoven uses or Atlas of the Mexican League
some notes just from what I've read so far: MLS has a major contact with adidas - all of the player and coaching apparel is done by them. Within that, I'm sure there's latitude as to the design and appearance of the kits. Also, Home Depot has just signed as a major sponsor so orange would be very appropriate; that said, there are a lot of teams that wear orange and it gets a little old after a while why not a bright neon/florescent orange and teal kit? It would need to be nuclear (hey, a texan just said nuclear) tang orange, like some brands use for styling and accents on keeper jerseys. kinda a Whataburger orange but a bit more powerful. will try to find some pictures of what I mean. another idea might be a bight green and navy or something like that
Burnt orange with brown and white trim, very unique. What name would fit these colors? Also what about silver and black with the name Oilers. In the long run I wouldn't mind any colors as long as they are not blue or red.
it seems like the leading colors are orange and green. Merge the two with a kits that has orange and green stripes or center green and sleeves orange a la Aston Villa design (not colors) and then maybe black shorts n sox or all white sox and shorts.
Could be a great idea, something like werder bremen http://www.werder-online.de/ http://www.werder-fanshop.de/ or it could be also black and white with vertical stripes (my favorite) a la Juventus http://www.juventus.it/ http://www.juvestore.com/dettaglio.asp?id_prodotto=601 by the way, how do I post pictures??
Find the picture (Online - Not on your hard drive!) that you want to post, right click to view properties, and copy the URL address. Now, in your reply post, click the "Insert Image" icon (looks like a double mountain with an overhanging sun), and paste in what you copied earlier. Voila! I, too, like black and white stripes, for obvious reasons...
Ironically, their home jersey is all-white... but I know how that would work out in today's MLS. Notice the addition of the fourth plain star on this jersey (compared to the above); they just now got these shirts in down there And no, I wouldn't recommend black here in Houston, either - I just like the way it looks. I would still prefer the orange, maroon and/or green, as they would stand out better in our league.
Here's an idea, and if you don't like the name Rovers, well, that could be changed to whatever the name ends up being. I really think these colors work well together and would definately stand out among the other MLS uniforms.
