Sabercats are playing very well and its exciting to be a professional rugby fan right now in Houston.

Nearly perfect season so far. Only 2 points not earned out of the possible 20 so far in the season. They were within a try score of earning the bonus point (for 4 or more tries in a game) in a couple matches.

And last weekend's win in Seattle vs those perennial contenders is a huge boost.

Hope the rest of the season continues as well as the first quarter. And that we thrash Dallas this weekend.

Hmmmmm....I vaguely recognize this color scheme from somewhere. Can't quite figure out from where.

    But I "Luv" it.

Another win by the Sabercats with an additional bonus point for 4 tries in the match. The Cats keep on rolling.

And the Columbia Blue kit looked pretty good too.

I watched some of the game and the Space City Blue kits looked even better in action. Bleed H-Town!

Next to last home regular season game this Saturday.
If the Cats win and score 4 tries then they clinch the #1 seed in the West.

Two best teams in the league head-to-head...Should be a good match.

I see the game is a 6pm start. 100F expected heat index. Guess we are going for a home field / home temperature advantage.

The start time was imposed by FS1. They picked up this game to air just before last week's game and the time was changed from the normal choice of the SaberCats, 7 pm CDT. Not a huge difference but not the pick of the team.

BTW, 4 league games on the FS channels this week:

If the Cats host a playoff game (s), those times have already been determined:

    West 1 vs West 4 – Saturday, 7/20 at 7:00PM ET on FS2
    West 2 vs West 3 – Sunday 7/21 at 8:30PM ET on FS2

Western Conference Final – Sunday 7/28 at 4:00PM ET on FS1

That conference final, if its here in Houston, is going to be a scorcher.

The league final is in San Diego:
MLR Championship – Sunday 8/4 at 4:00PM ET on FOX

As far as I can tell, the full criteria for the Cats to clinch the #1 seed in the West on Saturday:

    - Bonus Try Win
-Win by more than 7 points
    - Win with Seattle scoring fewer than 4 tries

Any of those should work to clinch with 2 games remaining. Basically we need to go 3 additional points clear in the standings. Those could result in a tie even if Houston gets nothing from the final two games but the Cats own the tie-breaker with a win. Seattle can't get to 13 wins if they lose on Saturday.

SaberCats won on Saturday, 28-25! They scored 4 tries so that clinches the #1 seed in the West.
    13-1 on the season!

Houston vs Dallas in any sport is a good time to tune in!

I wonder if they will let folks tailgate at their parking lot over there. It's not the biggest lot but enough.

Sabercats allow, and welcome!, tailgaters at the Sabercats Stadium parking lot. Both pre-game and post-game.

I'm looking forward to this in state rival match this Saturday and will be there in attendance.
