Spot on. However, this rumor about the Phoenix Coyotes relocating to another city has been on the table at NHL HQ for going on dang near 20 years right. It appears that the relocation talk is more lip service from the NHL suits for the folks in Arizona to back their team over actually witnessing the NHL HQ folks doing it. The word I always hear from the Canadians I know here in town or folks from up North is that they would for sure go to Houston NHL home games and root for the new team, save the rare times each season that their childhood team came to town. Also, I did read directly from a report from NHL HQ many years ago that because of the NHL playoffs extending well into May and the Stanley Cup Finals into June, even a top flight facility like the Toyota Center cannot keep the home ice from having a thin layer of water develop on it with our intense sun and heat by that time of the year. So basically the players lose their edge on their skates with greater ease when the ice is not up to par. Which is obviously an issue, more so when the showcase event of the Stanley Cup Finals is in play. Thus, the NHL HQ office declared years back that no new teams will be added in the Southern United States moving forward for this very reason.

Well, if Houston does get an NHL team it will give us an opportunity to win the Stanley Cup and then be the only ice hockey team namesake (if the team is the Aeros) in existence to have won all 4 major league ice hockey cups. AVCO Cup from the World Hockey Association Turner Cup from the International Hockey League Calder Cup from the America Hockey League And then hopefully the Stanley Cup with the NHL).
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30886997/houston-texans-part-ways-jj-watt-asks-release Years back when our boards here at Houston BigSoccer.com went from the Possible MLS Expansion Cities Forum: to where we have been to this very day, the Mods made us select some snarky caption for our Houston MLS forum tag. (the caption is at the top left hand corner of this page) The consensus was to poke fun at how bad our NFL Houston Texans were at that season just complete in the Winter of 2005. So we selected "HOUSTON DYNAMO: Better Football than the Texans". Which is still in place here in 2021! So with this in mind, as bad as our last Dynamo season was in 2020, we are witnessing the complete colipase of this home town team our local Houston Texans! The old coach, Boob O'Brien was so out of his depth as an NFL head coach he sent our best wide receiver in a trade we got peanuts for in return. And of course, the league leader in passing yards, our quarterback Watson is a want away from this scenario. Now, just today we are witnessing the hemorrhaging of another player in team captain, J.J. Watt. Our most iconic player ever as he wants away as well folks. He asked team management today for his release from the team.
Thanks for all the pride you took in playing for our city J.J!!! Best wishes as you move on in your playing career.

can someone in the know explain to me why these lower divisions teams play at the same times as the Dynamo. seems like a lost opportunity.
MLR has launched a website and app with all league games for free. https://www.majorleague.rugby/news/the-rugby-network-launch/ Nationally televised games will be delayed but the other games will be live. This Saturday Houston hosts Seattle on CBSSN so that won't be live but it will be on there later. The site also has highlights and other rugby news.

I heard they set up a huge watch party for the Coogs! Did anyone go down there to take in the game? I can only imagine the after party celebrations!
that’s incredibly irresponsible to set up a watch party with us under Judge Hidalgo’s Red Alert warning for the virus and you know many weren’t wearing masks. Everyone who attended the watch party is a murderer!!!
I am certain a large gathering of college age Americans and foreign students, who just want to support their University of Houston Coogs winning basketball team, will have social distanced themselves in good order.
We know J.J. Watt is no longer a member of our city's Texans franchise, however he always speaks so highly of his attachment to Houston and our culture. He as well is a huge follower of the beautiful game. Here is a recent interview with him from the Men in Blazers crew on NBC Sports. It is a very well done interview on Watt and his ever growing intimacy with association football. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/watt-compares-premier-league-nfl-224537170.html

We’re not moving.” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman knocked down the Forbes Sports Money story as “completely false.” The team needs a home in 2022-23 as it is not returning to Glendale.
Good find. I saw on a crawl at the bottom of a sports broadcast over this weekend something to this same effect that a rumor was out on the club moving, with Houston as well listed as the destination but it appears the Arizona Coyotes owners are standing pat there in Arizona and not going anywhere soon.
