Wow -- the Houston - Kansas City semifinal is going to be on both Fox Soccer Channel and HDNet. I'm one of the lucky sods who is able to get both channels. Decisions, decisions... Should I go with Fox Soccer Channel, whose picture looks like crap, and listen to Max Bretos, he of the world's worst goal call? ("Yyyyyyyyyyeeeaaaahhhh!" WTF is up with that?) Or should I watch HDNet, with their beautiful HD picture, but have to listen to long-locked retard Marcelo Balboa, who's never seen a call against the defense he's agreed with? To him, every red-card should have been a yellow, every yellow a foul, and every foul a firm finger-wag. This is also the idiot who kept saying Chivas USA needed to show more "intensity". This in a game where Chivas had 16 shots, 7 of them on target, and failed to score only due to some amazing saves and pure dumb luck. Currently I'm leaning toward HDNet with the sound on mute. Maybe I'll come here for the play-by-play. ------RM
you know if you play hdnet's coverage of a playoff game with dark side of the moon (hit play 15 seconds after kickoff), they synch up. very trippy.
Lucky. I can't watch it since I don't have either channel. I only get the games that are on the ESPN family of networks.
the Dynamo will score during the second minute of "any colour you like" the first time through. start it again the same way for the second half kc wiz will score during the third minute of great gig the dynamo will score the winner as gilmour says that in reality the entire moon is the dark side (dang, i'm paraphrasing, gotta remember this stuff better.)
I have been contemplating this myself. The one thing that seems out of sorts to me is that my DVR schedule shows the MLS game at 9pm CST with hockey on in the normal primetime spot that the game will kickoff in. Guess they were assuming Chivas would be hosting the game...... I wonder if they are going to remove hockey from their schedule now that they have announced they will broadcast the MLS game, or if they will show it tape delayed at 9 as shown on the schedule. I hope they still show it live, as the picture quality is by far better than FSC.
i hate you both, i'll be watching bigsoccer for my updates as i am attending texas tech, in the far northwest of the state, i'm probably closer to y'all than home. (exageration, but not much.) edit: it actually looks dead even. don't know why it matters, leave me alone the graveyard shift at ihop is killing me. oh and no hdnet or fsc.
If your campus internet doesn't block it try the pages: http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=1822&part=sports or http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=1957&part=sports a few hours before kickoff and see what they say.
It seems like a no-brainer to me: High Def is the way to go. I usually ignore commentators anyways. HDNet baby!
HDNet, although I wouldn't know personally. The best solution, though, is to listen to FSC and watch HDNet. If you have a 2nd tv hooked up to cable/satellite, cart that tv to the main tv area and run a cable from the room where the 2nd tv is hooked up. 25 foot cables run from about $10 or $20. I'm going to do this for the next WC so as to listen in Spanish but watch in HD, 'cuz by then I'll have an HD tv.
No question HD Net! Fun drinking game, everytime Marcelo starts a sentence with "You know what or I'll tell you what" take a drink. (Warning: Unless you have a high tolerance for alchohol, you will not make it to the end of the game sober)
Dude HD & some brew withtout a doubt. Leave the sound on for the crowd! F*** the commentators ! It's about the game!
I am sure the NHL game will air live and then the MLS playoff game will be shown on delay. I'll probably watch it live on FSC rather than waiting and possibly hearing any spoilers before it airs on HDNet.
From HDNet's home page: "Due to scheduling conflicts, we are unable to broadcast tonight's previously scheduled NHL game." Yeah! MLS 1, NHL 0! ------RM
