As per Sean Tse's Instagram, he officially received his HK Permanent Identity Card today, which means he will receive his passport within 2 weeks.

I guess that means he will become eligible in time for Hong Kong's next World Cup fixture in March. Any word on the others who should be eligible such as Eastern's Diego Moreira Eli etc?

Au Yeung Yiu-Chung and Peng Lin-Lin of Biu Chun Rangers are in Japan for the Try Out event, hoping to catch J1/J2/J3 coaches' eyes and get a contract to play in Japan.

I'm surprised that Au Yeung Yiu-Chung still gets this kind of opportunity as he has not done anything significant over the last year and a half. He is not even a regular starter at Biu Chun Rangers. I guess he is just there to show Peng Lin-Lin the way.

Au Yeung can't even impress HKPL / Div One coaches in HK to be honest. The guy is the definition of washed up.

But he is a huge Japanese food and culture fan; I suppose he used any excuse possible to get a free trip to Japan.

Neither of them will get signed. They're probably just there because Philip Lee was the only chairman who would release his players to go for a trial.

Would've rather have seen players with a more realistic chance of getting signed like Lai Pui Kei or Shinichi Chan.

No surprises here. Mixu as usual has no confidence to play two strikers.

FT: Hong Kong Vs China PR - 0:2

Its pretty much a deja vu moment especially Yapp Hung Fai as Hong Kong lose to China PR by two goals. Giovane should've done much better to control and clear the ball which gave way to China's first goal by Ji Xiang. Helio conceded a penalty in the second half with Zhang Zhixe scoring from the spot.

Hong Kong did have two goal scoring opportunities when Giovane tried to make up for his amends with a long shot which hitted the crossbar and another which was parried away by Liu Dianzuo.

Realistically, I'd say they would play within either J2 or J3 teams. Might be tough for them to make a breakthrough to J1 teams though.

It is not surprising when Mixu played with one striker and then lost an early goal that HK end up losing. What surprised me was that the usually reliable Giovane committed such basic mistake. Helio's foul looked like a foul committed out of fatigue, which is disappointing because he rested in the Japan game.

Anyway 3 losses, 9 goals conceded and no goals scored. This is the HK team we have now, not very good in defense and no bite in attack.

Not happy at all with how Mixu managed the game.

At halftime he took Cheng Siu Kwan off which begs two questions: Why him and not why not replace him with a striker?

Then when Hong Kong went 2-0, he waits eight more minutes before taking off Wong Wai for James Ha. Why the delay? Also, why did he sub off our only creative player?

Lastly he waits 86 minutes take off Law Tsz Chun who was one of the most useless players yesterday, second only to Tan Chun Lok. Again, why the delay?

My main takeaway from the three matches is this: if the only way we're going to get a result is to play defensively, then please, play the most athletic starting lineup possible. I don't want to see Russell, Helio, Giovane, or Tong Kin Man starting anymore. Put players on the pitch who can keep up with the opponent, who can recover if they're out of position or can threaten to get in behind.

Biu Chun Rangers 1:7 R&F FC. Another big win for the league leaders.

Lee Man 1:0 Eastern FC. A surprise defeat for Eastern.

    Senior Challenge Shield

    Semi-final
    Eastern Longlions 5:3 R&F FC
Lee Man 3:0 Wofoo Tai Po

So Eastern Longlions and Lee Man will face off again in the Senior Challenge Shield final in February. Lee Man just beat them 1-0 in a league fixture.

Sandro announced that Wofoo Tai Po and himself terminated their contract one month early so he can move to his new club. He said both Eastern Longlions and R&F FC have made offers to him but he hasn't made up his mind yet.

Without Sandro, Wofoo Tai Po's already slim chance of progressing in the ACL pre-qualifying is even slimmer.

In addition, Matthew Elliott Orr Wing Kai who was known to have scored for Hong Kong against Guangdong earlier this year and featured against Manchester City in the summer friendly, recently completed his academic studies and will join the club. He will wear the No.8 shirt.

That's going to be a huge blow for Wofoo Tai Po as Sandro is one of their best and in form goal scorers for the club.

So we just got 2 new defensive mids in Diego and Sean Tse in the past week... this is to go alongside Roberto, Huang Yang, Philip Chan, and occasionally Tan Chun Lok.

We are now stacked in that position. Wish we got some new attackers instead.

This is true. He is no longer listed as a foreign player on Eastern's squad list.

Also, on the Lee Man vs Tai Po broadcast, one of the pundits mentioned that an HKPL club is set to make a coaching change next month.

Two weeks ago he did an interview where he said he wanted to go abroad.

    I still hope he goes.
