Haddow's been thriving well for Kitchee this season and it will not be much of a surprise that he is likely to earn himself a senior team call up for the March fixtures.

On the other hand, Eastern Sports Club suffered a humiliating and heavy loss to Lee Man after they conceded a total of eight goals during the 90 minutes. To make matters worse, Yiu Ho Ming got himself a straight red card after a poor challenge on Poon Pui Hin and apparently Lam Hin Ting was also seen throwing bottles at the bench and toward Manu Torres during the final whistle.

In transfer news, it seems that Jesse Yu Joy Yin is set to make his return to Eastern after he departed the club a few seasons ago. In addition, the club had also secured 33 year old Spaniard goalkeeper Gianni Cassaro and 20 year old Brazilian midfielder named Gabriel Carvalho according to Transfermarkt.

North District have also been busy in the transfer market having signed 20 year old Brazilian central midfielder named Victor along with securing Colombian Franklin Navarro, Serbian Aleksandr Mitriovic and goalkeeper Ng Cheuk Kwan.

In addition to signing Anson Wong Ho Chun, Kitchee have also reportedly signed Myanmar U22 midfielder Thurain Tun.

Kitchee's unbeaten streak continues as they took another three points against KC Southern with goals from Jason Kam Chi Kin, Matheus Dantas and Jordan Lam Lok Kan.

Will say that the Kitchee players' morale has certainly improved from last season in which if they can keep this up, they will be taking another step further to sealing the 2025/26 trophy.

Senior Silver Challenge Shield semi-final, Golik Northern District versus Tai Po.

Golik ND's second goal was a real screamer. Tai Po was quite lucky to turn the tables.

Here is the final squad named for the upcoming Chinese New Year Cup against FC Seoul:
    upload_2026-2-12_18-2-10.png
    • First call ups for Rangers' Yip Ka Yiu and Lee Man youngster Poon Sheung Hei.
    • Leung Nok Hang who recently transferred over to Shenzhen Juniors is the only overseas based player named in the final squad.
Some questionable names in the mix considering their recent match form.

Kitchee extend their unbeaten record as they continue to place themselves a step further in securing their HKPL title race with a narrow win against rivals Lee Man.

Yumemi Kanda's wonder strike was the only goal scored that was guaranteed to award Kitchee the all important three points as they are now 12 points ahead of second placed Lee Man.

Lee Man does have two games in hand, so the gap could shrink to 6 points if Lee Man manages to win them both.

But Kitchee is still clear favourites now for the HKPL title. 2026-27 is probably the last year we play in the ACL2, so I hope to see how Kitchee will perform with their expensive and rather effective squad.

HKNT 1:1 (5:4 penalities) FC Seoul

HKNT wins the Lunar New Year Cup for the first time since the 70s.

More than 14,000 attended the match, but I think many of them are Anson Lo@MIRROR and Ian Chan@MIRROR fans.

Jay Haddow, Kam Chi Kin and Pong Cheuk Hei have all played well and I think they may likely secured a spot within next month's squad for the unnamed friendly match and the away tie to India.

Whilst, the Hong Kong national team managed to secure the win over FC Seoul on penalties, I do believe that the March fixtures will be a major test for Roberto Losada and his squad which is going to be a bit of a challenge.

A bad day in the office for Tai Po's Marcos Santos, as his side lost to Southern District.

Yung Ho gave the hosts the early lead in which the ball went through Marcos' legs which he scored during the first half.

Marcos did pull a goal back to put the score level during the second half, but in the latter stages he conceded a penalty after he fouled Lee Ka Yiu in the box which was then converted by Stefan Pereira who restored Southern District's lead.

The loss against Southern District means that this could effectively end Tai Po's chances of retaining their HKPL title.

The Football Association of Hong Kong, China said the SAR women's football team, in Dubai playing in the Pink Ladies Cup, were safe and training in the gym at their hotel.

The association has been in close liaison with the SAR administration and will arrange for the team's return as as soon as possible.

    =================================================
The latest is that the team has withdrawn from the rest of the tournament and will return as soon as they can, along with all the travelling fans.

I hope everyone stay safe and return to HK soon.

    Kitchee 5:2 HKFC

10 consecutive wins for Kitchee. Inoue's opening goal for HKFC was impressive. Hopefully he finds a club in HK next season, as HKFC is now quite certain to go down. Kitchee's new winger Martín Merquelanz made his debut and seemed to do okay. We will have to wait and see when Kitchee faces tougher opposition.

Supreme Football Club is now 10 points ahead in the HK First Division Football League and looks certain to take one of the two promotion places. Team sponsor Jim Wong said he would spend $6-7m to assemble a squad for a challenge on the HKPL next season.

Both Lam Kar-Wai and Lo Kwan-Yee, formerly of Kitchee and BC Ranger,s are currently with the club, both will stay with the club next season. Lo Kwan Yee will be the head coach while Lam Kar-Wai's role will be defined later.

Lee Man confirmed the departure of Wong Wai who joined the club since 2022. It is speculated that he is set to join China League One club Nanjing City FC.

Nicholas Benavides formerly of Tai Po has joined China League One club Foshan Nanshi FC.

In other news, Eastern SC have launched a protest to complain about the questionable refereeing decisions especially with Yu Okubo's goal which was controversially disallowed for offside which was lately flagged by the linesman.

After Lee Man's exit from the FA Cup, the club sacked manager Chu Siu Kei, having being appointed last season.

Lee Man U22 coach Darren Read will be appointed as caretaker coach.

Here is the 40 man preliminary list named for the upcoming March fixtures with an away international friendly against Nepal and the final 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers against India:

Several players who are playing their club football in China have made the list whilst Kowloon City's Loong Tsz Hin is named for the first time.

However, Kitchee's Callum Beattie and Juninho both miss out.

Great news, it seems like both the men's and women's are both going to participate in the 2026 Asian Games football events after all.
