A footballer from England named Sonny Blu Lo-Everton stated that he would love the opportunity to play for Hong Kong and is open for a transfer to a Hong Kong club.
Lee Man, Tai Po and Eastern are all in contention for the HKPL title at the last week of the season next Sunday. Lee Man is on 53 points, Tai Po 52 and Eastern 50. Lee Man will play Biuchun Rangers away at Tsing Yi, while Eastern plays Kitchee in Mongkok. Tai Po will be at home against Northern District. On paper Tai Po has the easiest final game but Lee Man has the significant one point advantage. All games will start at 3pm on Sunday.
Might also be something that Hong Kong FA chiefs may also want to monitor and put upon their list of players they could look to target to represent the national team in the future. In other potential news: This could be an interesting choice for Kitchee considering that White had previously stated that he was open to a return to Hong Kong should the opportunity arises. In addition: Free agent Vas Nunez recently posted a photo outside of Kitchee's Jockey Club Centre that could possibly lead to speculation that he could be in talks to joining the club.
Again - what happened to Leung Nok Hang? He appears to be healthy and playing but no HK team call up once again.
Here is the 24-man squad named for the upcoming Defining Education Challenge Cup against Manchester United. As expected, players from Eastern and Rangers are unavailable for this fixture as the two sides are prepping for the Hong Kong FA Cup final. In addition, it has been confirmed that Helio de Souza Goncalves will be playing his last match in tomorrow's tie against Eastern according to Kitchee's Facebook page.
Biuchun Rangers 3-0 Lee Man Tai Po 3-1 Northern District Tai Po has won the 2024-25 HKPL and will represent Hong Kong in ACL2 next season.
Well, Ryoya Tachibana's sending off certainly proven to be costly and a turning point of the match as goals from Guillherme Biteco and a Lau Chi Lok double extinguished Lee Man's chances of retaining their Hong Kong Premier League title as Rangers took the win. The loss for Lee Man meant that Tai Po took the HKPL title after winning against North District. In the other fixtures, both Kitchee and Eastern settled for a point a piece whilst Kowloon City finished their campaign with a 5-3 win against Hong Kong Football Club. As Tai Po claimed one of the spots for the 2025/26 ACL 2 group stages, Eastern and Rangers will fight it out during the HK FA Cup final next Saturday for the final ACL 2 spot.
Everton has flown home to Brazil for surgery. Won't play for Hong Kong in June and likely also July. We're screwed.
Adding to that, Chan Siu Kwan is also set to miss out due to injury and hopes to return for the E-1 EAFF East Asia Cup 2025 finals in July. Also, I think Matt Orr who sustained a muscle tear is likely to be ruled out as well. In terms of transfer speculation, it has been confirmed via Mitchel Paulissen's instagram that he will be departing from Lee Man whilst Henri Anier and Taufee Skandari's futures remains uncertain as both have yet to have contract discussions. Also from Joga Bonito.7's instagram reels:
Recent Hong Kong First Division champions Citizen AA have applied for promotion to the 2025/26 season of the Hong Kong Premier League. There had also been rumours that another Hong Kong First Division side Eastern District and Guangzhou-based club Canton United are also seeking to be a part of the 2025/26 season.
https://www.thestandard.com.hk/foot...Tak-against-India-ticket-sales-start-tomorrow Hong Kong debuts at Kai Tak against India, ticket sales start tomorrow The Hong Kong men's football team will make history on June 10 when they play their first-ever match at the newly opened Kai Tak Sports Park Main Stadium, taking on India in a crucial AFC Asian Cup qualifier. Kickoff is scheduled for 8pm, with tickets priced at HK$200 for adults and HK$80 for concessions, according to the Cityline ticketing platform. While the event page initially indicated tickets would go on sale Tuesday at 3pm, the Hong Kong Football Association later clarified that general sales would commence later this week. i.e. 28 May 10am. ==================================================== I think a lot of people will go because it is the most affordable way to see the new stadium so far.
Lau Chi-Lok has won the HKPL MVP for the month of May. He has scored 17 goals in all competitions and its a new record for a Chinese player in the HKPL. Apparently his team boss Philip Lee is very upset that Lau is not being seriously considered by HKNT head coach Westwood.
As of last night Everton was still in HK and he collected his Players' Best Player and Best HKRT team player prize in person.
Chu Siu-Kei has been appointed head coach of Lee Man FC. He probably has a lot of work to do this summer bringing in and letting go of many players, then getting them to play together as a team.
Westwood says he'll play against Man U and then reevaluate. I hope he will stay. We can't replace him.
Leung Nok Hang could be a great signing for Kitchee in addition to acquiring Callum Beattie and Kendy. Whilst I could still see "Bear" Pong Cheuk Hei still potentially act as second choice if he joins Kitchee, I really hope that the club has offered Fynn Talley a new contract. So far only Diego Bardanca and Helio Goncalves are confirmed to be departing as well as potentially Fernando and if I were to make any speculations, I could see Welthon, Poon Pui Hin and Cheng Chin Lung as possible players who could exit the club and Wang Zhenpeng could look to retire.
Will this mean Sai Lo will reconsider the HK team again? Quite a mystery why he fell out of the picture.
It would make sense considering that the club are looking to do a major revamp. Also from the same private channel, it seems that Mingazow is certainly going to stay whilst Matheus Dantas is under talks for a contract extension. However, Aaron Rey, Bae Jae Woo, Sherzod Temirov and Luis Machado are likely to depart. Also: Despite Juninho's first half goal, Ashley Westwood's Hong Kong team succumbed to defeat as a Chido Obi double and Ayden Heaven gave Manchester United the win.
