I saw the following quote regarding Brian

``He's certainly bring (sic) us plenty of honesty, which is what you get with the American boys,'' Everton coach David Moyes said.

This reminds me of last years comment from Souness (sp? I don't really care) regarding Big Bad Rib Crackin Brad that he "has a very American attitude" towards sport.

Once again I think WTF are these guys talking about!

Well, most soccer players in Britain are basically superstars in their home countries. The exceptions are the Americans. Our ego-maniac superstar athletes play primarily basketball, football and baseball. Maybe our Yanks abroad come across as very down to Earth, normal people as opposed to the ego-maniac type of superstar athlete most Premiership players are.

    Hell I don't know, I'm just babbling.

no you aren't babbling, that was dead on target. "footballers" in england are often primadonnas and cocky as hell. american soccer players have a very workmanlike attitude for the most part (with the exception of a few) and that is due mainly to the fact that they aren't all millionaires who are worshipped by the populace. i suppose that is refreshing for an english manager. that way he doesn't have to worry about some arrogant ****************************** threatening to leave the club if this or that demand isn't met, or he isn't given playing time (regardless of if he earned it).

Americans are also generally honest footballers, i.e. they don't dive as much as players form other countries. Obviously, this is respected in the English game. I don't think BM has ever been a big diver.

he is honest - Moyes likes that .... I bet it will not be long before Mcbride and Rooney are paired up top. McBride is not afraid to play the set up man (if fact he likes that) for Rooney.

Did anyone ever say anything nice about Wynalda?

Don't say Ty Keough, or Phil Shane!! They kiss everyone's ass.

Just my opinion but I always thought Wynalda was an overrated ego maniac. Good to hear McBride isn't.

Unless I miscounted... won't it be at least 4 games before the 2 can be paired?

    (Rooney's out for 4 isn't he?)

    Correct.

Yeah, but the comment is not about skill, it it about attitude, of which Wynalda has plenty.

A prime example: Newcastle signing Marcelino, only to result in a lazy-ass player and a complete waste of money for more than 3 years. Finally, the club finally cut the sod last week.
