Surely, it does seem that he's considering talent even further down the Spanish pyramid then just those La Liga / Segunda clubs.

That doesn't strike me as such a bad thing for the youth level as I imagine there's more parity between the clubs at the younger age groups.

Alan Curry, the keeper who was with Foundacion Marcet has signed with CF Damm. Again another lower league Catalana club.

So let's catch up on some news.

First things first... Call me an optimist, but I like the things I saw from Puerto in his debut w BATE. He looks lively and a polar opposite from what we've witnessed the last three cycles, with bigger strikers like Jerry, Yustin, Choco, Costly, Benguche... Yio seems to be a breathe of fresh air, smaller technical striker who can operate outside the box w his feet like a 10 or a 7/winger

U20s finalize their list for the PreMundial. Plenty of names missing, but we have to make due w what's given and id imagine since the tournament isn't on a FIFA date, other teams will be handicapped as well.

Puerto's move was definitely a positive one - a step in the right direction for his career and like you say, away from the big troncos.

As long as those names that missed out were due to their clubs not letting them go? I'm cool with that, especially as it will be the same for everyone.

Olimpia getting humbled by these MLS friendlies, shows the huge level of difference in Leagues.

And this is the team that basically walks the team each season.

If this World Cup has shown us anything is that we need to integrate as many as these Spanish players as possible, even down the divisions is light years ahead of Liga Nacional.

So sadly it looks like Jaidyn Contreras betrayed us and has chosen to represent the US-U20 despite taking part of that trip in Spain.

Let's see how that works out for him...

I've got high hopes for this u-20 regardless.

How come the Villarreal kid didn't get called up, I wonder?

Many of our European based players were not released by their teams to participate in the Tournament, Suazo, Pineda, Victor. And Jaidyn is a big loss as well since he was very promising.

    Finally saw the highlights.

What a way to lose a match. Shades of the men's team really. Losing to the most accessible team in the group. Now they have to look for results against Canada and Panama...

Balbas is a tidy player. Zero excuse for him to be on the bench from now on. The Barcelona kid is also quite the player, but he's also the youngest and it sometimes showed.

That's a disappointing start, these Caribbean teams always seem to have our number.

The only saving grace about this group is I see every team being able to rob points off each other.

That's positive the Barca kid looks legit, I did think he looked a bit scrouny but 3/4 years at the age is loads. It says something of technically he can make up for it.
