Gracias a su trabajo fue convocado para la Selección Sub-17 de cara al Mundial de Emiratos Arabes Unidos. En dicho mundial debutó ante el anfitrión debido a lesión de su compañero de equipo Kevin Álvarez. En total jugaría 4 partidos. Sus buenas actuaciones le valieron para dar otro salto en su carrera, la Academia de Fútbol Estadounidense lo becó para que estuviera en sus filas. En febrero se da a conocer que Anoal iría a Holanda a hacer unas pruebas pero sin dar pistas de su destino. Hoy el catracho ya se encuentra en Holanda para hacer una prueba de 10 días con el gran Ajax Amsterdam, la cantera del fútbol holandés. ESTO NOS DIJO... ¿En Ajax jugarás? Primero Dios si. ¿Cómo se dieron los contactos? Fue por parte de la Academia. Ahora solo tengo que hacer una prueba de diez días nada más. ¿A cuál división vas? A la Sub-20.

Would be a huge opportunity for Anoal Hernandez and for Honduras to showcase their talent at an elite and prestigious institution as is Ajax. Says he has to wait till he turns 18 years of age to officially join the Ajax system. He said once he turns 18 he'll be there in Holland permanently, but for the eight months till that actually happens, he'll be resuming training in the US at Monteverde Academy which is where he's been at for the past two months.
