as some of you know i work combat airlift intel for the USAF, this is a warning i just recieved this afternoon from a contact of mine, spread the word. it's one of those fishy/peculiar things, but i figured i'd pass the word along! this is an unclassified alert.

Government Warning regarding purchase of UPS uniforms:
There has been a huge purchase, $32,000 worth, of United Parcel
Service (UPS) uniforms on eBay over the last 30 days. This could represent a serious threat as bogus drivers (terrorists) can drop off anything to anyone with deadly consequences! If you have ANY questions when a UPS driver appears at your door, they should be able to furnish VALID I.D
Additionally, if someone in a UPS uniform comes to make a drop off or pick up, make absolutely sure they are driving a UPS truck. UPS doesn't make deliveries or pickups in anything, except a company vehicle
If you have a problem, IMMEDIATELY call your local law enforcement agency right away!
TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY! Tell everyone in your office, your family, your
friends, etc. Make people aware so that we can prepare and/or avoid terrorist attacks on our people! Thank you for your time in reviewing this

I think he's a civilian who works for the Air Force. But he sure is gullible if he believed that crap was true.

This is why military cooks should only concern themselves with what goes on in the kitchen.

Ouch. That sucks. Reminds me of when I was working at an ISP... Brand new there, hadn't seen an internet-virus-hoax e-mail ever, so the first one I see, I pass around. It happens, and good for you for being good-natured about it :)

That Neiman-Marcus cookie recipe is a fake too.

And oh yeah, don't give your bank info to anybody claiming to be with the Nigerian government.

I love the complete lack of a sarcasm detector among the BS left.

Sure, Alex, irishFS1921 was joking. Uh huh. Sure he was.

Did you know that the word gullible isn't in the dictionary? Don't believe me? Look it up.

Just out of curiosity...why does it "suck" that the threat isn't real??

Can this crap stop now? It was pretty obvious that he thought it sucked that he was pulled in by a hoax. He heard something, didn't realize it was a hoax, and wanted to spread the word to the folks on here. That's being a good citizen. When he saw that it was an old hoax, he took it in stride, even though some of you folks were ripping him to pieces. That's being a good person. I don't often agree with the guy, but there's nothing in this thread that anybody can rip with a clean conscience. Or is everyone else on this thread completely perfect in every way?

I don't like guns. :) The rant wasn't intended to be aimed solely at you. You just happened to be the most recent post on a page full of posts ripping a guy apart for an honest mistake. Plus, I was wrong on one thing: There is something in this thread worth attacking. Alex's post was just plain idiotic. Fire away!
