Pichon is questionable for Saturday, while Misaki has been upgraded to probable. Everyone else is healthy, fortunately.

More later on as lunchtime is dwindling down...

    Got her!

    Just an idea:

I would like to see Heather, Lorrie, Jen and Jenny on the back line, until Mary is more comfortable with her team mates, and play Erin in Lorrie's spot!

    Welcome to the 4077th, Power....

Take a gander at their list:

Out: Whalen, Whelchel, Salisbury, Orlandos and Webber. Probable: Raveia (even though she has a hairline fracture of the right collarbone) and third-string goalie Meghan Frey.

Time to open the can of whoop-butt, I'd say...

Not that Webber would have played anyway!!

    We should do well.

    #2Fairfan, what is Lorrie's spot?

Whelchel, Whalen, and Frey are/were non-factors or at least they were in the Courage game. Salisbury and Orlandos were definately out last Saturday. But New York definately looked GOOD against the Courage. Raveia showed no ill effects from the Jacqui collision (btw...I have seen that sequence many times in the past week...WICKED!!!!! OUCH!!!). Her and Boxx played damn well.

The whole team played well for 90 minutes. A remarkable contrast from when they played the Beat several weeks ago.

Well, I want the Charge to win. However, the Power seem to be on the rebound. Hopefully, it won't be like the match against the Beat. So please 2-1 or 1-0 to the Charge.

All eight 'veteran' field players from last year's team should start, with the possible exception of Pichon, who might still have the injury bug. Those vets are Benson, Tietjen, Fair, Mitts, Tullock, MF, Smith, & Pichon. Those who already have the experience of playing with each other should play together, & should start. It seems like the team's trying to adjust to the newbies when it should be the other way around.

I concur with Fear; NY looked good against CAR. I think NY played well even in defeat against ATL & SD. Had NY scored first on their numerous chances, who knows if they would have stolen a point against ATL, or would have won against SD?

Both PHL & NY gutted their rosters, but the similarity ends there. NY are a team playing to their potential, while PHL are not. NY may not have the technically-gifted players, but they play well as a team. NY hustle and win most 50/50 balls. NY move the ball well, and they move with purpose. Most of last year's losers have been cut or are injured - that's why most on that team have no idea what it means to be the worst team in the league. And that's why NY play to win. And NY have already won on the road, against the defending champs no less. Don't ever discount NY, they're not last year's team. Hell, even last year's horrible NY team only took 10 minutes to score three goals, and win, at PHL.

But NY are very beatable. Their outside backs, in particular, are not technically sound. Say what you will about Pearce, but she gets turned around easily in this league. Pearce relies on speed to catch someone, instead of defending & tackling straight-up. And Tietjen's evil twin has only one move. Even with acres of space in front of her, evil-twin will whack the ball upfield. If the PHL braintrust can get their act together & take advantage of mismatches, PHL have a good chance to win. Otherwise, the mismatch will be a Milbrett against McVeigh.

True about Pearce and the other Tietjen. Tietjen takes a good number of the corners along with Emily Janss. It should be noted, in case people forgot, but Pichon will be playing on the 11th of May against Hungary so we won't have her for the match against Washington.

With all the turmoil in NY I'm predicting 4-1 Charge.

Any guesses on the starting 11?

TURMOIL? There is no stopping the Power now that Susan is gone. I look for a hungry Power team to show up on Saturday. Should be a good game, as most in this series are.

I believe that five of the six matches between these two clubs have been decided by a goal or ended in a tie.

Pearce predicted last night a 2-0 Power win :D

I think NY will start the same line-up they had against Carolina

    Smolak
    Pearce, Boxx, Raveia, Tietjen
    Janss, Justi B-Y, Peters, Rapp
    Milbrett and Welsh

    Charge -

I really enjoy your posts. This room is more exciting than the Power one. And if the Power can't win the Championship, I always root for the Charge.

Did you mean to say NOT the most liked??

I have no idea what she was really like. Saw her at games and all, but never spoke to her. Any of the volunteers that dealt with her and are on the boards care to comment? I would think it's "safe" now that she's gone, if in fact it is negative.

O, please. It's good to have fans of other teams on the site. After all, it has been known that some people are avoiding this forum from now on for various reasons.
