I was watchin GolTV Noticias on Dishnetwork and they had a piece on the Home Depot Center and the Galaxy's first practice at the stadium. The Stadium looked freakin awesome....It is very beautiful and got me all hyped up and ready for saturday's game on ESPN2. The players and coaches came out onto the field with some corny music on the background and they looked pretty happy when they stepped onto the field. They also showed one of the practice fields where the Galaxy also trained and it was also very nice. The piece also showed David Beckham who was on one of the practice fields shooting a commercial and conducting a clinic with a group of kids. Apparently, he didn't want to give interviews and his bodyguards didn't allow reporters to go near him. Oh, and at the end of the report they mentioned that one of the guests of honor at Saturday's game will be none other than Pele. So for all of you out there in LA going to the home opener, ENJOY!!!

I have been told that I was the guest of honor this weekend.

Oh well, I suppose I could take a back seat to Pele just this once.

Anyone else coming in from out of town for the game?

I'm staying in Vegas tomorrow through Tuesday and driving in to L.A. for the game.

    How far is that, anyway?

I'll be driving in pretty early in the morning to avoid traffic, so I'm allowing myself a good four to five hours to get there from Vegas. That way we should get there kinda early.

Driving back that night could be a bitch, though.

If the Galaxy brass were real savy, they would select a random Home Depot employee, and their family, to help open the new stadium on Saturday.

And in a bizarre coincidence, that Home Depot employee is....

    EMILIA ADU!!

If that gets Adu in a Galaxy uniform then so be it. It might be for a year or two before he heads overseas, then bye bye galaxy.

Vegas to Victoria St. It takes me about 6 hrs (5 from stateline) to get to Orange County and its another 1/2 hr to Carson. I don't know what route you're taking.

If you take the 10 or 60 the traffic can be a bear. Best bet might be getting taking the 15 to the 60 and then the 57 south to the 91 and exit either at Central or Avalon and make a left. Go right (Central) or left (Avalon) on Victoria St. Good luck on parking.

    Alternative
If the traffic is ok on the transition using 10 or 60 you can continue but they usually crawls between the 57 and 710. From the 710 it should be fine. Just check out your possible routes and keep an ear out for traffic delays.

Maybe someone who lives out in the Riverside/ Redlands area would be best at giving directions because I mainly know it from OC.

Beckham doesn't need bodyguards in the USA.
