By Gian Falcone After 90 minutes of a lot Whitecaps FC games this season you could sum up the action with a word beginning with S and ending T; however Saturday's 1 -0 win over Houston Dynamo had those in blue and white shouting 'Holy Sh-ea'! After two away defeats Whitecaps FC were looking to add a fourth win to their campaign on home soil at Empire Field. Tommy Soehn made three changes to the side which lost in Portland. Michael Boxall whose recent defensive display was like having a bucket with a hole in it... The New Zealander was replaced by Captain Jay Demerit. The former US international partnered Alain Rochat at centre back. Jeb Brovsky moved to the bench in favour of Johnny Leathers at the back. In attack Camilo's suspension meant Soehn had a forced change on his hands, replacing the tricky Brazilian with Whitecaps new boy Mustapha Jarju, who seems to be still finding his feet at the club and in the MLS. Davide Chiumiento made tough viewing for Houston fans within the first ten minutes of the match. A bending free-kick on the edge of the by the bianconeri youngster was not dealt with by Tally Hall, as his attempt to claim the shot was deflected off the cross bar and into the 6 yard box. Whitecaps FC failed to attack the rebound leaving Hall to dive on the loose ball seconds later. It did not take long before the Houston Dynamo would also have a long range effort smash the crossbar. 25 yards from goal Adam Moffat with time and space launched at shot which left Joe Cannon outstretch in between the sticks, but having his blushes saved by the frame of the goal. Cannon was amongst the action throughout the half keeping the Caps in the game. On 24 minutes, Brad Davis the player with MLS's top assist managed to squeeze a shot past a sea of white and orange jerseys, which left Cannon throwing his body at a deflected shot for a corner to the Dynamo.
