Don't know what it is, but I'm having trouble loading pages today. And I know I'm not the only one. I'm glad for the new servers, but there seems to be a burp somewhere in the system.
56k for entire my life. i have no idea what speed is considered to be slow. oh well i took about 15 to 20 secs just to log in. is it supposed to be slow?
BigSoccer doesn't seem especially slow right now -- it's taking pages about 2 seconds to load via my DSL connection. However, it is a bit of a let-down compared to the speed we saw immediately following the big server upgrade a few days ago when pages were loading close to instantaneously via broadband.
For the past couple of days at work where I have DSL hooked up to a crappy computer it has been very slow. When I go to post or click on a link my little bar thingy on my browser will immediately go to the halfway point and then take several seconds before it loads. Here at home I am using dialup hooked up to a bottom of the rung DELL laptop and it definately goes faster than when I surf at work.
I am still having this problem. The page load freezes midway through. I have to hit refresh for it to load entirely.
Yep, it's still doing it (or doing it again) for me too. (I'm a premie using DSL). It seems to be associated with the lunch time rush, but this is more pronounced than anything I've noticed since I switched to DSL from dial up last year.
It hasn't been bad for me the past couple days but this morning its been terribly slow loading. I have also had to reload a couple times after it simply stopped loading.
the front page simply won't load for me... the best i'm getting is the very top bar "bigs soccer, home, my, and share the passion"
well, i was getting there via "my" or "boards" but i just went to the front page and it loaded perfectly fine -jim
I'm running into that problem as well occasionally. Not all the time, but at least I can go to "my page" and things work OK. However, I've had another problem the past few days: I click on a thread or the quote button or the "my page" link and I get a popup box asking me if I want to download this file? Huh? I just want to go to another page. Anyone else running into that problem besides me?
i think i had that problem the other day... but i rebooted and didn't run into it again and the front page isn't loading again
And yet at this very moment it's like I click a link. Say, post reply. It slowly starts to 'get' the next page (little bar at the bottom of the browser screen). I click Stop, then hit the link again, and it almost always goes right to it. I've had to do that about 6 times now in the past 5 minutes. Oh, and prem. and on cable.
BigSoccer's working great for me right now using DSL. It's taking less than a second for pages to fully load. One reason might be that I'm no longer getting the drop-down menus. As someone previously suggested, perhaps that feature was slowing down the site for premium users.
