No, there won't be any more matches. And there also isn't any room for additional matches, because all other midweeks between February and half May are already full with European Cup or Dutch League & Cup matches.

I think it's a pretty lousy schedule, why no WC contenders like France, Brazil or Spain.

Usually, less rated teams (like Ecaudor, Australia) will take a "friendly" more serious than worldclass teams like France or Brazil. Better competition means better preparation.

Also, Holland is more likely to win against these teams, which will give the moral a boost :)

And then there is also the wonderful, new play off system to finish the league.

Last thing we need is some moral boost just before the WC because of a 3 - 0 victory over one of those teams. Some tough draw is much more usefull in preperation.

Who cares about friendly results? They're used for preperation.

The only thing I care about are WC results, and yes I live in The Netherlands

I think they should have scheduled 2 more but, alas, if there's no time then I guess they cant :(

I would rather have them mixing and matching players against Australia than I would Brazil, when you play Brazil and you try new things you lose badly. Nobody wants to go into the WC losing the the #1 competition, thats just stupid, afterall sport is a good percentage mental.

BTW....Why cant they schedule some friendlies during the winterstop?????
Yes I know not all players play in Holland and have time off but I'm sure you can put a team together somehow.

Because in what little is left of the winterstop, players like to get their well-deserved rest. ;)

Yeah but 1 or 2 games in a warm country aint gonna kill them.
Let them play in Spain or Florida, plenty of time to sit in the sun ;)

And the clubs will not release players for internationals during the winter break.

Which winterbreak? Last league matches of 2005 were 30 December, and the first of 2006 are 11 January.
And the Dutch internationals that play in England, Spain and Italy haven't got a winterbreak at all, or have the winterbreak in the last weeks of 2005, and start playing already this weekend again.

They should synchronize all winter breaks evenly in Europe.
    More fair to the players

That's impossible. In some countries they have to have very large winterbreaks because of the weather (Scandinavia, Russia, Poland, Switzerland, Austria, Ukraine and others).
It would make no sence to stop football in other countries also from November/December to March.

I just watched Barcelona- bilbao and vBommel played very well.
vBasten is gonna have to seriously consider him for the upcoming friendlies.

Not much time to do so however, only 3 games to try him out, I doubt thats enough.
An in-form vBommel could be the missing midfield key to winning the WC

You're the only one, so cancel other plans because you're the certain winner.

Question for all you experts living in Holland:

Will there be tim for vBasten to add a few friendlies before the WC starts????
Or is there simply not enough time???

Let's hope he won't. What do we need more friendlies for? To make sure our players are tired before the WC has actually started?
