36' Zenden shoots a shot while off-balance and it goes wide. Gio is back on as he took a knock earlier.

40' Rafael van der Vaart in for van Brockhorst

41' Czechs looking dangerous but no real good chances yet

42' Great save from Cech as he saves a header from F. de Boer, it was crossed in by Davids.

45+1' GOOOOOOOOOAL! Van Nistelrooij scores off a header, crossed in from the left by Edgar.

its around the 56' the game is pretty calm now. nothing has really happened this half.
maybe around the 50' or so Seedorf crossed in a beautiful ball from the right. van Nistelrooij appeared to try chesting it but it rolled out, it looked like a header may of scored if he tried.

goal Czech Republic. around 60' i think.

i cant give u good details but the ball was crossed into the right side of the box, settled, dribbled toward the endline and then centered in on the ground, Waterreus overplayed it and it was kicked into an open net

omg!!! beautiful cross from the left by zenden, kluivert dives parallel to the goal and heads it behind him, the goalie has nothing to do with it and...wide right...could of been the goalie. with that play and others Holland should be on top.

    question about streaming video

Is the quality supposed to be this bad? I live in atlanta and have a fast connection, but the video keeps on freezing and is not good quality. Is this how it is for everyone watching. By the way, do they show more international games on this website?

    Thanks,

82' corner to the Czechs, headed out but controlled by Czech Rep.

83' Stam fouls someone and freekick from around 24m out. Baros goes off bleeding after the foul. Freekick is over the bar.

85' Beautiful move by vd Vaart to evade three defenders, dribbles off and rips a shot straight at the keeper...
looks like it will be a draw :-(

Davids dribbles some1 dirty and is taken down for a freekick over by the left corner flag. he takes it and drops it off to seedorf i think who rips it into the wall and it is cleared out for a counter and Waterreus has to rush out 30m to clear the ball.

    Damn

1-1. Not good. Not the end of the world either. BTW, I read that Raffie will now start ahead of Zenden in the mid (as he should). Apparently, Advocaat said that he started Zenden out of loyalty but going forward it will be Raffie (see below). Interesting comments from Kluivert.

Zenden loses place to Van der Vaart 31 Mar 2003

Holland coach Dick Advocaat has indicated that Boudewijn Zenden's midfield position has now been allocated to Ajax star Rafael van der Vaart, saying that he gave Chelsea bench-sitter Zenden a first team line-up against the Czech's last Saturday out of loyalty.

During Holland's disappointing 1-1 European 2004 qualifier against the Czech Republic Van der Vaart started on the bench, but when Arsenal reserve Van Bronckhorst left the pitch with an ankle injury, Zenden was forced to take over the back's position and Van der Vaart came on and took over Zenden's midfield position. With the appearance of the young Ajax midfielder Oranje's performance improved dramatically as he demonstrated to Zenden what is needed of an Oranje midfielder.
Kluivert, who stated after the match against the Czechs that he was forced to track back again and again will also welcome Van der Vaart in the starting-lineup of their next match against Moldova on Wednesday evening.

Kluivert: "I had to track back to midfield again and again against the Czechs, I was free and so was Ruud but they (the midfielders) couldn't reach us."
Advocaat: "I started with Boudewijn Zenden out of loyalty to the players who had starred in matches previous to the Czech Republic," adding " Van der Vaart was on the bench. There was no need to change before the game but at a certain moment in the game Van der Vaart was really needed. There will come a moment that we will see Van der Vaart starting in every match."
