Anyone want to tell what happened in the game, for those who didn't see it? I read a couple match reports, but not anything deep in detail. Man of the match etc? Bad players?

    oh gio!!!!!! what a strike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

87' - seedorf reverses from R - van B unleashes a sonic laser from the far left to the opposite side netting - about 30 yards on a frozen rope

Let me begin by saying this wasn't a great match. The crowd boo-ed the players when they left the field in the 1st half (I boo-ed them as well in my living room :D ) and probably would have done so again at the end of the game if the goal hadn't been made. It's not even that it was a bad match, you just expected more when you see which 2 teams where playing. If I hadn't taped Italy - Portugal and Spain - Germany, I would have been a very unhappy football fan yesterday. Anyway:

Seedorf played a fantastic match, and incidently was also the one who gave the great pass to van Bronckhorst for the goal. No question, Clarence was the man of the match for me.

Van Bommel was invisible throughout the match.

Van Nistelrooij might as well not have played, Makaay didn't do much either, but I still think the latter left a better impression in the end.

Waterreus has still not let in even 1 goal in all the games he has played for Oranje. He should get a real chance to compete with van der Sar, instead of only letting him play whenever vd Sar is injured.

Man, Kluivert was off yesterday. Every pass he gave was too hard, and he didn't make a goal out of 3 very good chances to score. Although it needs to be said that the Argentine keeper did his job very well indeed last night.

Reiziger also had a great night. He played as a centre defender and looked very eager to prove himself, and he did in my opinion. Maybe like Puyol, this guy should move from the sides to the centre from now on, to make better use of his abilities.

Didn't see enough of van Bronckhorst, but damn, what a goal.

Zenden and Ricksen did ok as defenders last night, but didn't do as good when they should have come forward to help the Dutch attack. Seeing as Zenden is expected to do this - Advocaat isn't using him as a back for his defending qualities - he didn't do his job (again) yesterday. (come on, you can't expect me to say Zenden did 'ok' without even one complaint being put in there)

    Who else played?

    France - Tsjech Rep 0-2
Didn't see the match (I ran out of vcrs last night :( ) but this is a pretty damn good result if you think France is still one of the best teams in the world (which I do) They might give some real problems (as opposed to just "some problems", prior to the game :D ) to the Dutch for that 1st spot in their European Cup qualifying group.

Advocaat almost lost his newfound hair after seeing that unlike his Man United player Ruud, Veron was allowed to play longer than one half. He has said he won't be making any deals with Ferguson to only let a player play for 45 minutes anymore.....don't know why he did so in the 1st place anyway.

    Thanks for the match report.
The game was available via pay-per-view but I didin't feel like paying for a friendly.
So, it's nice to read other people's review of the game.

Kluivert had some good chances that were well saved.....but his passing totally sucked. He killed more than a couple of attacks.

I was disappointed by Holland's play up the middle--they seemed to want everything to go through the wings. However, that may have been because Kluivert's passing sucked so bad.

The technical and tactical skill on display was awesome. I hope we can get to that level by 2010.

bad game. The people were whistling at the holland team.

argentina played well when Saviola, Solari and Cambiasso came in. Hopefully Bielsa noticed and gets read of the old Lopez, Veron, and Ortega once and for all.
