Is any of you know where I can get the video tape of the final of Euro Cup 1988 Holland-USSR.
The second goal by Van Basten was unbelievable.

He actually did not place it that well but made up for it with tremendous power.

Well, Dasaev was the best keeper in the Cup, just the whole series of events after the free kick, and the ones leading up to it, he was completly controling the midfield, the USSR couldn't contain him, he did everything he wanted in that game.

I recently watched a review of euro 88 and I reckon the quality of football wasnt as good as it is in 2002 .
I have a suspicion that the best teams in 88 would struggle against the current best teams.
    does anyone agree with this???
How would the holland 88 team perform against the teams of today??

IMO, i think football gets better and faster every year, i think they would of qualified for the WC2002, if they had Gullit with a cool head, younger Rijkaard, and an injury free V.Basten, then you throw in Bergkamp, yeah, they would of made things happen in the WC.

Also IMO, In USA94, if they would of had Gullit, they would of beat Brasil and been World Champs, but the current Brasil teams has to much speed, and would kill the Oranje 88.

Gullit said that he regretted that he didn´t go to WC94.But if we would have won with him against Brazil I don´t know, they probably would have got another offside goal or fake freekick.

Gullit appointed trainer Dutch under 21's

Ex-Dutch international Ruud Gullit has accepted an offer to train Hollands under 21 youth team. Gullit has signed a contract keeping him with " Oranjetje" up until the youth world championships that are to be held in Holland in 2005. Gullit who previously played for Feyenoord, PSV, AC Milan, Chelsea before becoming trainer of Chelsea and Newcastle is currently working for Dutch TV as sports commentator.

Little suprised he accepted it.Cause I think the KNVB messed with him and Van Hanegem when they appointed Advocaat.Anyway it´s good to see another legend working for the NT.
There are always rumours of him going to Feyenoord too.
