I know the whole Xavi thing is a joke but probably best to leave it out of the next thread title instead of having 20+ pages on the pointless debate about a joke. My two cents.
Meanwhile, Mike Bradley spent the night alone in his apartment situated 9 feet from the Villa training ground, nourishing himself on a meal of protein shakes, (perfectly concocted in the Princeton science lab), rusty nails and the souls of puppies. Practicing not smiling, while watching game tapes and hoping to pick up some pointers...game tapes of the White Xavi.
Don't know if this news was mentioned earlier in the thread, but the quotes are encouraging ... http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/clubfootball/news/newsid=1383085.html
Sorry, I meant discouraging. No, wait, I did mean encouraging. Perhaps you are from the "It's not enough to succeed, others must fail" school of thinking. I like to see promising young players rewarded for their efforts. I am not afraid of (Holden's potential) competition, and I like the idea that Bolton is trying to build a competitive team. Specifically, though unnamed, I believe Holden is part of Coyle's plans and the team's "nucleus ... centred around young, exciting players ..." Hence, encouraging ...
It really wasn't that vague to begin with, and he already explained it pretty well. Really, it isn't that much of a logical leap from the manager's comments about wanting to lock up exciting young players that are the nucleus of the team to Holden, who is an exciting young player and undoubtedly part of the team's nucleus. Especially in a Stuart Holden thread, no less.
Listened to an interview with Holden the other day with Glenn Davis. Nothing too newsworthy, but he did mention that he's focusing on improving his through ball, and said Frolaini gave him a bloody lip in that Everton game.

Per the Gatt thread, the answer is yes, Bolton got Molde, 1-0. Gatt played but Holden (logically) did not.
Holden once again is being mentioned as one of the best players in the Premier League. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/sport/...nchester-uniteds-nani-the-player-of-the-year/
