IMO, China forfeited the right to host the Cup when it didn't come clean about SARS. Now there's two strains of the epidemic and they simply do not have the resources to fight it. They stonewalled for a third of a year about how many cases they truly had, and Hong Kong, too. The Chinese government took the Stone Cold Steve Austin approach to this problem, and it can be summed up in three letters. DTA - don't trust anybody.
