A story of Bayern Munich this year...

During the bad start in the season there were many former Bayern pros criticising and analysing the current team, some even demanding to fire coach Hitzfeld. After this crisis Uli Hoeneß stroke back in a TV show.

In this show (Doppelpass, DSF) he quarreled with expert Udo Lattek (former many championships winning coach) who is one of those critics. Highlight of this round was Hoeneß saying: "I'm deeply disappointed of some former Bayern members. Also Udo Lattek didn't have a lucky hand in this matter". Lattek: "You cannot tell me what to say. I got my opinion and I can express it." Hoeneß: "You're damaging FC Bayern with it. That's not what I expect you to do". Lattek: "Shut your mouth. Your problem is that you can attack others but are unable to stand criticism yourself".

In the same show Hoeneß attacked Lothar Matthäus who also belongs to the mentioned critics. Hoeneß word by word: "As long as Karlheinz Rummenigge and I got something to say in this club, Lothar Matthäus won't even become a greenkeeper here". Now Matthäus is fed up and gave back his honory membership, saying: "I can't explain why my factual criticism is answered by Hoeneß with a personal insulting reaction in the TV in front of a million audience"

    Isn't this typical German? :)

There have always been problems with the strong personalities in German football down the years. Schuster, Effenberg, Schumacher, Matthäus to mention a few.
