Canada’s Group B which also has Qatar and Switzerland, will be joined by the winner of Playoff A. The playoff group includes Wales, Italy, Northern Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina. so Canada, Qatar, Switzerland and Italy it is then.
Bump - @bayred and @newterp If I recall you’re both tennis players. Just received my Briffidi SW1 swing weight machine today - if you know what that is. Another gear related rabbit hole
I looked it up. Interesting. I probably should pay more attention and really get a racquet that truly fits my play style - but I haven't gotten there yet. I'm at least one month away from being able to play again - can't wait!!
I had a partial SLAP and rotator cuff tear a couple years back. PT was an avid tennis player and suggested specs that have immeasurably helped my shoulder (+ PT + a couple cortisone shots) so I pay much closer attention than prior.
I've been getting my camera out a bit more of late. A common merganser from a Thanksgiving day walk and the latest full moon. Canon 7D mkii with a Sigma 150-600mm lens. If I sell my next book, I might be able to upgrade my gear.
Very geeky piece of equipment but glad to hear it's helping you out. Fortunately never had an upper body injury in tennis. I relied on my left-handedness more than power to win points and games. And cheating, of course
Mac remains my favorite all time tennis player. There have been a few really good documentaries over the past year
I knew his brother Mark pretty well, worked with him for a while. Got to meet Patrick and John. We were a tennis family, my son was a big junior player and we hung around the New York tennis crowd back in the day. My son ended up winning a national D-3 title in college but never went pro. John was a very smart, engaging guy.
There's a good one where he and Borg reminisce about the 1980 Wimbledon final. Those guys were remembering invividual plays over 40 years later!
