Temples of the Earthbound Gods is now in paperback! Order from the UT press website and get a 33% discount. http://www.utexas.edu/utpress/books/gaftem.html

This book traces the history of stadiums in South America's footballing capitals from the late 19th to the early 21st century. Beginning at a time when the were no soccer stadiums in either city, Temples follows the parallel development of soccer and the cities that today consitutue two of the most important places on the global soccer scene.

While this is a bit of shameless self promotion, it's a book written by a soccer fan for soccer fans and has come out in paperback just in time for the long northern winter.

    Cheers!
