Before these two qualifiers, and particularly since 1996 have we ever fielded a starting XI in a qualifier/gold cup/world cup/official game that only included one domestic based player? I know at WC 2010 even when we only had 3 on the squad that at least two of Bornstein, Findley, Donovan started every game, and it seems like our qualifers and gold cups usually have even more of an MLS presence than those teams have. I guess its also a possibility that in this cycle we will field an entirely foreign based squad to start a game as well.

I believe our 2011 Gold Cup encounter against Jamaica in the Quarterfinals featured an entirely foreign-based lineup.
