BH está normal....nem parece que elas ganharam alguma coisa. Torcida lerda..
Ridicula mesmo...isso pq vc nao precisa conviver com elas todos os dias. Se vc morasse aqui em BH vc ia ver o tanto que sao ridiculas!
The article I posted was talking about this years format for the Brazilian first division. It is called the first fair national championship since the first one in 1971. This because it was in a league format and not Cup format. The Historical Injustices come into play when we look back at the past champions. Most of the time from 1971 to 2002 the best team throughout the year would not be crowned champion due to losses in the playoff stage. The article stated that the biggest club to suffer this injustice was my team, Atletico Mineiro. Since 1971 we were the best team at the end of the season 6 times....however we only one 1 time, losing the other 5 in the playoff stage. in fact, my club still holds the title of having the best record in the history of Brazilian football: The 1976 campaign where we went UNDEFEATED into the final game against Sao Paulo who had 3 losses. And we lost in PKs!!!! In retrospect, the club to take the most advantage of the unfair championship format has been Flamengo, who only 2 times was the best team...but has been crowned champion 5 times!!
I understand your frustation. It must be very hard to take those losses under circumstances. Actually, the examples you cited would be good reasons to have the format being used now. This is the format that should have been in place all throughout. A true champion should be able to survive a "marathon" and not a "sprint". The old format was so crazy, it's no wonder people lost patience with all the shananigans and political manuevres involved. Team play one round of matches and then have to change the mindset in midseason. Basically, it's like saying that you first have to run 20 kilometers and finish in the top 8, after which you then must finish first against seven other runners in a 100-meter dash to be declared the "winner". Either you run a "marathon" or a "sprint" but both would be silly. This is also why I don't like the Mexican format, with its silly percentages that only a mathematician would love. Brazil, the country that produces the most talent in any corner of the globe, never really needed to have the old format. It's only because people started staying away from the grounds that the authorities were "forced" to change. The way it is now is pretty simple: play against each opponent home and away; a big country, so 24 teams is okay; team must play at their fullest; the team with the most points are champions; the team with the least is relegated. I just hope that the authorities don't screw it up with "late-minute" decisions.
Cry loosers, cry Cry loosers, cry....My team win titles every year. You are loosers that do not win an unique important title since 1971. Since 1971, Cruzeiro won two Libertadores, four Taças do Brasil and one Brazil Chanpionship, and you....NOTHING!!!! Your problem is that you worry only with my team and Cruzeiro`s fans instead try to change this ridiculous time named Atlético Mineiro. We will win, next years, certainly, at least one title. Can you say something similar to that about your team? ATLETICANOS = LOOSERS
Ohh.. listen to the little Bambis try to talk big. Have you forgotten that we are the 2 time South American champions? Comenbol is the same tournament as Sulamericana..only with a different name. I might also ask who has more Mineiro championships?? Face it...the only thing you little girls can talk about is the Libertadores. And what is even more embarrasing is how your fan base is considered by the Brazilian media as calm and relatively non existent. This year, because Cruzeiro had a pretty good year their fans came out of their caves and actually started going to games for the first time! The Brazilian media was so shocked they kept interviewing their fans asking them why the good attendance numbers this year! I laughed so hard! Milton Neves even went so far as to ask Alex his thoughts on the good attendance numbers for the FIRST time ever! I even taped that show it was so funny! Go ahead little girls..enjoy winning the national title FOR THE FIRST TIME. This is your Cinderella season, your time in the sun. Enjoy it while you can because next year the REAL big teams of Brazil will be back in top form. And nobody is crying..what would we cry about? The fact that your President but together a mercenary team when everybody else was going through a rebuilding year? Oh, that is really honorable. There is a reason why Cruzeiro is considered the most artificial team in Brazil...that honor used to belong to Flamengo. Pathetic.
.............and perhaps Cruzeiro should of had a Brazileirao in 1974. Have seen recently a goal they had disallowed against Vasco - for no reason it would appear!!
Ombak, Libertadores are not the only S. American tournaments. There is the Sulamericana to, which use to be called the Conmebol. We won that in 92 and again in 96.
Yeah, but Campeão da Sulamericana is NOT Campeão da América do Sul. Libertadores = the championship. The Sulamericana is like the UEFA Cup, second fiddle.
I dont think anybody ever tried to say the Sulamericana is more important than the Libertadores..but it is a Continental competition none the less. The Europeans think the UEFA Cup is important...and so is the Sulamericana.
What bugs me about the 'second' South-American tournament is that they are always changing the name, the format and the criteria in picking the clubs. Once there was the Supercopa (Libertadores Winners Cup), and they divided it into Copa Mercosur and Merconorte, just to end it and start the Copa Sudamericana, which would be the successor of Copa Comnebol...quite a confusion! If they only sticked to the same format, maybe the fans and the media would give the proper importance to this 'second' tournament, like the Europeans do to theirs. BTW, would anyone have a list of all Mercosur, Merconorte, Comnebol and Sudamericana winners?
COPA CONMEBOL Winners: 1992: Atletico Mineiro-Brazil 1993: Botafogo-Brazil 1994: Sao Paulo-Brazil 1995: Rosario Central-Argentina 1996: Lanus-Argentina 1997: Atletico Mineiro-Brazil 1998: Santos-Brazil 1999: Tallares-Argentina After that is where the corruption started. Conmebol and the CBF got together back in 98 and through their genious came up with this idea: "Hey, lets create a South American competition with only the elite clubs from the Continent. Since only the best of the best will be playing, the money will flow in like water from Sponsors and supporters..... We will call it: Mercosul! In 1999 they encountred a problem: The calender is too full! There is no room for so many competition.s No worries, we'll just replace the Conmebol Cup with our new one...dont worry. It will make us more money in the end." Yeah, by 2001 it was obvious the Mercosul Cup was nothing but a joke. They lost money as no sponsors wanted anything to do with it, and the supporters never really became attached to it. So in 2002 they scraped Mercosul and brought back the Conmebol Cup. BUT, to prevent themselves from looking like jackasses the Conmebol comitte decided to rename the competition to Sulamericana... And in 2002 the Champion was San Lorenzo from Argentina This year the Champion will be either River Pate from Argentina or Cienciano from Peru. The final leg will be on Dec. 19th.
Copa Commebol?!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....IT´S THE JOKE OF YEAR!!!!!! ONLY AN ATLETICANO TO TALK ABOUT THAT!!!!
Taça Brasil???? Its a joke to talk about an OFFICIAL Continental Competition? Tell that to the Europeans then about their UEFA Cup. What is really a joke is how Cruzeiro keeps crying about Taça Brasil of 67!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHAHAHAHHAHAHHA Now THAT is the joke of the CENTURY! Taça Brasil??? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHA
Re: Taça Brasil???? The problem is that this sentence: Implies exactly that - that winning the CONMEBOL/Sulamericana makes you South American Champion. That is not the case.
But Ombak, why not? It is a Continental competition, South American...so yes we were the 2 times South American champions! UEFA champions are European Champions as are the Champions League winners.. In the same way, both the Sulamericana and Libertadores are the South American champions. Thats why back in 1997 Minas Gerais got so much press because Atletico Mineiro were the Conmebol Champions and Cruzeiro the Libertadores champions.. The Brazilian media back then labled Minas Gerais as "South America's state" for winning BOTH Continental championships.
That's like saying Copa do Brasil = Campeonato Brasileiro. Yes, semantically, someone who wins a championship played between South American teams is A South American champion. But you have to separate the two things. Libertadores = Campeão da América do Sul. CONMEBOL = Campeão do torneio CONMEBOL. That's all. Saying "oh we won the South American tournament" is misleading.
I see what you are saying....Conmebol is Continental none the less. Maybe not THE South American champion like you said..but a Continental Champion.
Second Class Competition... The reality is that Commebol Cup was a Second Class Competition. Only teams that can’t play Libertadores Cup and Supercopa Cup (Among Libertadores Cup Winners – At Brazil: Flamengo, Santos, São Paulo, Cruzeiro, Grêmio and Vasco) enter on that. Then, it was very poor, with small teams. For example, Cruzeiro never played Commebol Cup because it was playing Supercopa Cup or/and Libertadores Cup.
