Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 I guess we missed Celtic Heritage Night this season. Maybe next year.
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 St. Patrick's Day...what if I'm not a Christian? Wouldn't that be "offensive"???
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 You don't have to be a Christian ,so you can go to the Heights and get bombed. And you don't have to be Hispanic,so you can get bombed the rest of the year.
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 What's Christian about green beer? Or is that what St. Patrick used to drive the snakes out of Ireland? At least every March we don't get treated to stories about how he enslaved people like that other guy's holiday in October...
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 Too bad the 7 Oct game is in Utah, maybe we could have had an Italian Heritage Day! That way we could all bring our violin cases to the game! NOT!
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 For Italian heritage day everybody would have to fall down grabbing their ankles at random times during the game.
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 So would one of the freebie give-aways before the game be a magic sponge? I mean the FO would have to know someone in the stands may die if they aren't touched by a magic sponge. I've always wanted one of those anyway.
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 Maybe this will be the one game of the year that Sylvia Garcia goes to. Bring your cameras.
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 Remember, in Ireland, St Patty's Day is not a drunk fest. It is a very serious day of remembering St. Patrick and his bringing light to a pagan society. Please be aware sports fans that in our culture, we have done a good job of taking what is "immigrant" and twisting it to be "'Merican". Think, pizza, chinese food and celebrating Irish heritage as a day to get shit faced cuz that's what the Irish do. Spanish as a language and culture has only been in Tejas for 400+ years! Sabes??? If a man wants to get drunk 365 that's cool and the gang so have at Bandido...IMHO its just very silly to have a one off Hispanic Heritage Night in a land called Tejas. I was under the impression Hispanic Heritage has always been celebrated here. Perfect example is what is Tex-Mex cooking??? Or even better where did the "Rodeo" come from??? It's like Major League Baseball headquarters in New York telling the San Diego Padres to have a Hispanic Heritage Night...San Diego is as Hispanic as a town name gets and even the team mascot is in Spanish. Yet it is so ingrained in "Americana" sports culture people not from places like Tejas or So Cal forget that spanish culture and language has never disappeared! MLB already has a completely Hispanic franchise to brag about each season.
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 Hey, Bandido, can you cut your hat in half to lend to me for that game - I'm half-Mexican...
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 I'm wondering if they will give out little Tequila bottles that day. That would be sweet.........
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 I thought grabbing ankles was more typical for Bastille Day!
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 The difference is that you fall down first if your Italian. The French pretend to drop the soap first...
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 Does anybody else find it freakin' hilarious that hispanic heritage night is sponsored by Budweiser???
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 not really-Budweiser is one of the world's most popular beers-I thought it was mostly a US thing and then I reas somewhere how popular it was in Europe and South America. Surprised me.
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 Bud Light was the official beer of the Mexican national team if I remember correctly
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 Your'e right...it should have been sponsored by Miller Lite!!!
Re: FYI - Hispanic Heritage Night on 9/17 Why does everybody think hispanic means mexican? I am hispanic but my parents are not from Mexico, they are from El Salvador.
