Me friend who is a Liverpool fan said he was always pretty inconsistent . He played better in that system , but was never as good as people think he was . Good player on a good system but not the type of player who can carry a team on his back like Messi , Neymar , Ronaldo .

Yeah, I agree. Given what a flop Dembele is and will remain, I'm not sure Coutinho would spend so much time on the bench either. Plus we don't really have any one that could play as an attacking midfielder.

Unfortunately everyone seems to have a price, it's a shame but it's part of Bartomeus way of getting rid off criticism with money.

What do you mean was never that good? Like they say in DBZ this is not even his final form

I stand by what I said. He will turn up very very good sans future injuries

I mean, in his one season at Dortmund and the 2 or 3 injury-free stretches he had in his first 2 seasons at Barca he didn't come across as being that good. Someone mentioned Jadon Sancho above. He seems more advanced at 19 than Dembele did. The future holds no guarantees, but I can see someone dishing-out €70-80 mn for Sancho Dembele never did anything to warrant that kind of spending (and of course we spent way more).

But I admire your optimism.

He doesn't give a damn about that , he just posted a video saying that they should vote barto out in the summer and explaining the whole situation , scary how the barca media are trying to silence all this out , absolutely disgusting specially saying things about messi's wife , don't think Messi is going to stay for another season ..

If this is all true, Messi should leave.

If my employer was talking bad about my family, I would resign in an instant — loyalty or no loyalty.

    Or the whole board resign.

Yeah, the market is out-of-control. But there are still awful and good signings and I think it matters. Its just the bar has shifted from what is considered a steal versus what is a howler of a signing.

But yeah...on a scale of Øusmane to 10, the Pulisic signing is probably a 2.

I can spot few posters in this board on the same boat. Also barcaforum pretty much got ruined because they allowed these saboteurs to troll.

I actually agree. Coutinho wasn't half bad for us. People who expecting him to score 30+ goals don't know the type of player he is.

Umm I just play FIFA repped this.

People weren’t 30 plus goals, they were expecting Iniesta type of influence . Perhaps just a few more goals . Until he got put into the wing which was completely useless .

Not sure what you watch but Dembele's been pretty much the only wing threat not named Messi. He wasn't the greatest when we played him at center forward for those cup games, but dude has shown enough to be a difference maker.

He won Rookie of the Season for Bundesliga and got them a cup victory, which was their first since Lewandowski left. He didn't come out of nowhere. He probably would've had a similar second season at Dortmund had Neymar not left.

However, I do feel that unfortunately maybe he's gotten that Derrick Rose/Grant Hill/Penny Hardaway bug, the injuries and expectations are a bit too much. I still think he can be important for us.

Would be quite the turnaround for Dembele. But we don't really have much choice at this point to wait and see. Not sure when his contract runs out. It's the single worst piece of business in football at the moment. Coutinho was another one but at least he was loanable and his wages have been offloaded ... if only for a year.

Btw, Basaksehir terminated their loan deal six months early. Arda Turan is back with Barca. :sneaky:
