Chelsea had average over 10k last season (9,6k so far) and it is likely that a few clubs in the English league (e.g. Liverpool, both Manchester clubs) will also reach 10k because, as far as I remember, they have more matches booked at large stadiums this season. Everton atm has 9,5k average. In German Bundesliga Union Berlin has good numbers (currently 8,4k) and they may reach 10k at the end of the season while Bayern will be moving in the near future to 15k. seats stadium from it's 2,5k training ground.
Yes, WSL clubs are starting to move towards playing more games at the main club stadium. Many are actually playing all their league games there: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Leicester, Everton took over the old men stadium.

Take this for what it's worth, all things being relative, but I was disappointed that this match was not sold out.
The second leg of the Liga MX Femenil Aperatura Leguilla Final between Tigres and Club America at Estadio Universitario, Monterrey: Attendance : 40,100+ (was announced during the game and I didn't write it down).
LIGA MX - 23rd November 2025 - Universitario, San Nicolas De Garza UANL Tigres 1 - 0 Club America attendance: 40 100 (+) (stadium max. cap. 41 886) (50th in top 100 at the time)
Looks like it's a broader issue... WSL concerned by Sky broadcast slots after TV audience of just 71,000 watched Arsenal v Chelsea this month | The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...rn-sky-sports-broadcast-slots-low-tv-audience
yes 12pm kick-offs are horrible for fans. And players having to eat pasta at 7am is not great either.
Thanks for finding this article. It was quite illuminating about the commercial struggle to make money televising WSL games. Damn, if I can get up at 7:00 am east coast US time to regularly watch an Arsenal or Chelsea WSL game . . .maybe they should consider promoting their games internationally, maybe outside of Europe as a whole, there may be an international market for their league, or they could try to build one. I think it's a damn good product.
Average attendance across top leagues in 2025/26 season missing in action: Serie A Roma seems to have the largest fan base, which I estimate at around 2,000 to 2,500 per match. Juventus avg att is probably under 2000. The rest of the Serie A clubs hover around above or below 1,000 fans per match. @blissett can correct me if I'm wrong Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol Feminino Série A1 I expect that in Brazil, during the regular season, the top four clubs will average around 3,000-5,000 spectators per match (Corinthians perhaps even above 6-7k) , and the league itself will look quite similar to Liga MX in terms of attendance, with a clear division between the top and the play-off teams, the middle of the table and the rest.
Some notes/questions: Looks like that Euro championship has not translated into more widespread attendance for the WSL. Kind of surprised. Related, Tottenham (whom I follow) don't play at "home" relative to their location. I would think if they did, they'd have a higher attendance. The Bayern attendance figure is kind of misleading. They seem to generally sell out their home matches, which seats 2500, but had a single match v. Leverkusen that was something like 57,000. Saying that, when they get their new stadium, I would expect their normal attendance to jump. Surprised that Real Madrid do not have a higher attendance being the 2nd best team in Spain. Interesting to note that the lowest NWSL team is only behind 5 WSL teams and 4 Franen Bundesliga teams. Interesting that Nantes has a higher attendance than Lyonnes. Apart from Arsenal, it seems that no team plays a majority of their matches at the main stadium (NWSL excluded as many are shared grounds), but do so occasionally. Is there any way to easily separate that out?\ And for next year, I expect Denver Summit to be fairly high on the list as there is a lot of excitement around the area (I'm local to Denver). We have at least 36k tickets sold for the home opener at Empower Field (home of the Denver Broncos), a one off location. Not sure about Boston.
OL Lyonnes struggles to find fans despite years of winning trophies, people around Lyon are not interested in women's football and still have the attitude about football not for women like many population in France. Nantes are playing in a small stadium (less than 2k stade marcel saupin), but have played a couple of games at the main stadium Stade le Beaujoire, where they push the marketing and offer free tickets to school etc.. so two games at 15k+ push the average attendance up.

Looks like Denver Summit's home opener will break into the top 20. Still two weeks away, and over 50,000 tickets sold. https://www.denversummitfc.com/news...surpasses-50000-tickets-sold-for-the-kickoff/ Won't get a sell out of 76,000+, but would not surprise me to see 60k reached.
That's a big stadium for a new franchise, I know they will use three different ones, very impressive to get that number.
It's a one-off match. I think the primary stadium, when complete, will be in the range of 15k. I will say, the club is doing a very good job of promotion. They were at the Nuggets (basketball) game a couple nights ago, and are constantly around town doing something. And there seems to be a lot of excitement.
The problem with this game is both teams are going to be road weary: they (Denver and Wash.) both have east coast games Wed night, would have a travel day, may be a training day, then game day at 1:00 PM MST. I was excited for the ambience of a large attendance but will be looking to see how well the game is being played.
As a neutral fan, I understand. But as a home fan, doesn't matter that much as it is the excitement of a new team in town.
