If I heard the man on the radio correctly CCS will be hosting a high school football doubleheader Thursday, August 21. The Crew are away that weekend to Dallas.

    Correct.

Pickerington vs. Reynoldsburg and someothernamecantrememberteam vs. someothermaybeSciotateam

Hopefully the grounds crew will come out of mourning in time to fix the turf back up after the event is over.

Still, butts in seats = good for Crew

They've done this every August for the past few years. There's lines on the field, it's never in terrible shape. The Crew gets good PR and some money.

i believe there's actually 2 football events at CCS.

the grange summer classic event and the annual kickoff classic.

both were there last year. i remember blue grange logos on the field that were visible for 1-2 weeks after the event.

Hopefully if there is rain the teams will stand where they're supposed to stand. Other than that, this is just another way to get money into the stadium so it's fine with me (not that anyone's asking).

Yeah, the Grange Insurance Ohio All-Star game. (all-star game for college-bound players.) That's on the 21st. Next Crew home game is on the 28th.

While we're on the subject of non-crew events, there is some drum and bugle event there, but that shouldn't be too bad on the field.

Drum and bugle event is iffy should the field be wet. Depending on the amount of entries, the field could see more damage than a high-school football game.

The DCI show is 6-20. I believe there are only..8 or 9 corps entered. This is the 2nd year they've had the event, and the only way anyone was aware of it was because of football lines.

The number of entries under 10 shouldn't hurt the field too much.

yea i was hoping it wasn't 12 corps...

that would really screw the field.
