Seven (7) DC United matches this year will be shown in High Definition on Comcast Sportsnet HD. This channel is currently only available on Comcast cable for HD subscribers. Also, the HDNet schedule (for the first half of the season) includes 3 DC United matches and 23 MLS matches, altogether. Currently, in order to receive both the CSNHD and HDNet channels, you would need to have Comcast cable and Satellite system. This is pricey. HOWEVER, an alternative is on the doorstep. Comcast Sports Net in High Definition is available to Starpower. Starpower currently carries HDNet. Starpower has stated that they will carry CSNHD if enough customers (or potential customers) call and ask for it. They need to see a "demand" for the channel, in order to offer it up. If you are interested in this, please consider giving them a quick call (1-877-782-7769) or email (sales@starpower.net). If you are a current customer, please call, as I think they will respond. If you are not a customer, but love helping out other soccer fans and soccer in DC in general, please consider calling also and stating that you are considering the service, but would like to have Comcast Sportsnet HD. Thanks Much. Tim
This is from the DCU press release:In addition, the seven home matches aired by Comcast SportsNet will also be produced in high definition format and be broadcast on Comcast SportsNet INHD. If the games are home you should be at RFK! AND they will also be on regular CSN (and if anything is only on HDNet Summers gets it). K, HD recording is a possibility now for some. Recording DC United home matches broadcast in HD is desirable. It would also be nice to watch away matches on HDNet (and the other MLS broadcasts in HD). The picture quality is not even comparable from Standard crapcast to HD. Nor is the sound. I am aware that bars show HDNet. That was not the point of the message. It would be nice to have a single service (such as Starpower or Comcast or DirecTV) that would bring HD to a HOME (not a bar, thanks anyway). Cheers, Tim
