I don't know if you know this, but your mom's cousin is a pretty huge deal here. Definitely one of the, if not THE, most important people behind the resurgence of St. Louis. Blueberry Hill, the Pageant, Pin-Up Bowl, the Moonrise Hotel, the Tivoli - all major attractions that owe either their existence or their comeback to Joe Edwards. He's trying to get a trolley line built now. Definitely a guy with great vision, and the ability to make that vision come true. Nice to have you as an AC fan! I'd love to have San Diego in the league, too.
Oh, wow, that Joe? Yeah, he's a really big deal. Maybe you could tell him to throw some of his influence behind AC? Everything else he's done has gone huge.
New Stadium location. The Pageant is the building with the "arrow" made out of the silver roof vents. What is that big building behind it? Buy it, tear it down, great stadium location. Pregame at Bluberry Hill. In addition to The Pageant, Joe could have outdoor concerts in the stadium. Visiting teams stay at the Moonrise. Cory, get it done.
yes there is a metrolink station right there! Biggest downside it isn't close to highways and neighborhood is a bit shady. Good idea though. Seriously Cory, you should talk to him!
right, but it's on the edge of the loop; the St.Louis side. That metro link is the one they had to beef up security at because of the muggings and attacks on people getting off there, parking and/or going to the Pageant. I'm not saying it's the North Side or anything, hence the wording "a BIT shady".
1) Hwy 40 and Skinker is like 2 miles away. 2) Also Forest Park Pkwy...very accessibile. 3) That's not a bad neighborhood, anymore. 4) I will NOT pregame at Blueberry Hill. You'd just have to count Battra out.
Comically, it's a company that puts together and distributes Port-a-Johns/Johny on the Spots/Porta-Potties/etc.... there's a few big shed/warehouse-type buildings and then just a big yard of plastic commode houses. That would be a sweet area for a stadium but parking would obviously be an issue. If our Metro system was better (ie a line that went from South part of the city directly to the Loop) it would be plausible. But oh well, have to take what we can get.
I understand where you are coming from. But if Joe Edwards brings us MLS and a stadium, I'll patronize everything he owns.
BlueBerry Hill is not a place for me. It's overpriced and overrated. I'll cross the street to Ciceros and have good beer. I go to the Pageant.
