I knew that Grant Wahl line-up looked odd from the beginning.
I thought if anything would change it would be Williams for Edu but I would still say I like this line-up more.

I dont know if i'd have the balls to start Gonzo here myself but im glad Jurgen does & im sure Gonzo does very well.

Also, I originally said Howard would be captain tonight but after seeing Bradley in the presser yesterday, I expected Mikey. Interesting..

Grant should stick to telling us who picks up the tab at dinners.

Shocked! Just got home from running an errand.

For those asking for Altidore to make his case...this is it. If he doesn't show well in the first 45... Gomez goes in. JK is ready to fire up ALtidore, and is giving him his chance! I Wonder if his maturity with the whole racial topic in Holland is what has given him the idea, Altidore is ready!!!!

Lets hope he can show the finishing he has for AZ.

EJ statting too is pretty crazy. Probably wants him to stretch the defense on the wings, with his running. Get Honduras tired. Really crazy lineup, very attacking minded!!!

Seriously. Way to discredit yourself in such an arbitrary way. He probably should have just stuck with his initial prediction instead of trying to reinforce it.

Klinsi takes some risks. And looks to the future. Very interesting. Worth a try, for sure. He's got my preferred 2014 back line in there. Hope it works, having never played it before.

    GO USA!!!

Looks like we don't really have a right mid.

When we have Donovan back in the mix, we can slot him in there and play the full 4-6-1 that we're going for.

Look at it this way.. JK is going to put out the team he believes will give us the best chance to win. He's not playing to lose or tie, but to win. Gonzo over Boco and Jozy over Gomez appear to support this.

fwiw I'm more concerned with Williams than Gonzo...based on my perceived thoughts I would have guesses Edu or Torres as they have been playing

Callin it now ..... Gonzo scores on a coner..

The only downside to this line-up is...if it doesn't work, then what?

Haha, I hate to be a pessimist about it, but this is probably the preferred XI of many, many posters, and from a talent standpoint is probably the best we have outside of Donovan, an in form Shea and possibly Gatt once he develops.

If this works...we have an amazing off the bench striker in Gomez, and a guy ready to keep Altidore on his toes for his starting position. We have a guy who will finally take Boca's spot, and have a young, fresh, CB pairing for at least the next 8 years.

It can only get better. Big props for JK trying this... it takes a LOT of guts to play such an offensive/experimental line up...

No I know, I'm saying what if it DOESN'T work. It can't only get better from here, because our talent is out there with this line-up.

I might go with Gomez over EJ as well, but it might be hard to make that formation work.

If Shea returns to his 2011 form, he's definitely in that conversation as well.

Not to nitpick but Cameron turns 28 this year...He seems a lot younger since he's new to the NT.
