The edict will be re-evaluated on the Wednesday following the first Tuesday in November. You read it here first.
The article you cite quotes Santa Clara County Executive Jeff Smith. not Governor Newsom. But Smith must know some little birdies. Plus, you might have replied to @Earthshaker, since he's the one who questioned you, not me. (And I even said "@falvo is not wrong" that Newsom wants us locked up into November).
Yeah that's what I meant. If it were up to them, we would be put in a rubber room. I saw poor Nancy Pelosi stocking her mansion in Pacific Heights (SF) with Ice Cream. Give me a break.
"Chris Wondolowski “leaves door cracked” he could continue career beyond this year" (Center Line Soccer - Monday, 4/20/20) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
He certainly will not have had any injuries or fatigue to deal with. It all depends on whether or even if the season will resume play in 2020...
"What if Chris Wondolowski had scored that shot at the World Cup?" (Center Line Soccer - Wednesday, 5/13/20) Photo by Michael Steele/Getty Images GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Anybody else think it's weird there have been recent socila media posts from the Quakes about Albanian guys not on the team anymore and stuff from the 1970s, but on May 18th a couple days ago there wasn't a peep on the anniversary of Wondo's record-breaking 4-goal game?
To clarify, looks like there were some tweets, but there was nothing on Facebook as far as I could tell.
Wondo could be entertaining other offers from either the USL or other MLS teams.... I'm mean if Drogba can play until he is 40+ in Phoenix, so can Wondo...
It seems to me like the Quakes have grown really quiet and that they're hardly sending out anything... or maybe I just unsubscribed from most of it...
https://www.sjearthquakes.com/post/...ris-wondolowskis-underdog-story?autoplay=true Also posted this in the Ike Opara thread... Nice conversation between Ike and Wondo......amazing how much respect Wondo gets from other mls players.....yet most MLS fans can only think about the world cup game.... We're lucky to have him.....
https://www.espn.com/soccer/major-l...r-some-players-the-damage-done-is-irreparable "I'm glad I'm out at the end of this year, because five years from now with that CBA, the backbone of this league will be guys that will still feel wronged," San Jose Earthquakes veteran forward Chris Wondolowski told ESPN. "And I don't want to be on the other side of the talks in five years. The owners can and will try to smooth things out and I hope they do. But for me, I think it's like an open can of Coke. Once you open it, you can't save it for later. It's not the same no matter what you do." Some of us talked about Wondo playing next season to have a proper farewell. That doesn't sound like it.
If you listen to the Sam Stejskal - Paul Tenorio Podcast, it sounds like MLS and particularly Don Garber really screwed the players at the last minute and reversed some of the $ gains the players had won in the new CBA. Plus Garber threatened lockout, which would have terminated health coverage during a pandemic. And MLS wanted players in ORL for 10 weeks (now 6) And they got a force majeure clause So the players realize they have hardly any Influence or value in the league & They are angry.
Diggin' the video's between Ike and Wondo....Usually these videos are just fluff pieces but this one offers some great insight.
Hardly a surprise. The league has always screwed the players, the refs, and everybody else every chance they get.
I might opine that had he scored that goal there's a very real chance another team (MLS or otherwise) would have outbid the miserly owner of the Quakes and he would have spent the past six years somewhere else...
I think it sounds like he's pretty demoralized by everything that's been happening, both in public and behind the curtain.
