from what i just read on MLSnet.com

"OPTIONS FOR HERNANDEZ: Defensive midfielder Daniel Hernandez, entering an option year with New England, says he might be heading back to Mexico. Hernandez, who started for the Revolution in the MLS Cup Final, would like to return to Steve Nicol's outfit. But he winces at the thought of a potential pay cut and says he can do just as well financially in Mexico, where he spent two seasons with Necaxa before a return to New England in 2005.

MLS clubs must exercise players' contract options by Dec. 1."

i havent seen any news on this. and its december 4, so did he take the option or is he gone?

not picking up his option would be foolish of the Revs, especially with the possibility of SJ leaving

Metrostars went for $100 million and you think the Revs are only worth $25 million? Pssh. I mean sure they're a superclub, but 4x?

There's times where I feel like I could go up to Krafty Bob and tell him I'll give him $10 to take this team off his hands, and he'd do it.

That might actually be a little high considering the new owner would be paying rent for at least a few years.

Red Bull bought the team with marketing in NY as a primary concern. AEG was also less willing to sell their NY team with Harrisson around the corner in 2009. That drove the price up.

I for one hope he has worked things out about his contract and will be back next year. He's a solid, experienced DMF who will be a key player if Joseph leaves and valuable option even if Joseph stays.

Agreed. It's always best to keep a central player. Losing Bully and Hernandez would be too much
