Anyone else happy that we no longer have to watch Hernandez send those free kicks 30 yards above the goal every time?
Two thoughts: 1. I don't remember anyone complaining about Hernandez's free kick skills during the away game at Miami at the end of last year. 2. Hernandez may have had a penchant for missing kicks, but without him our defense became an utter sieve. Without him up front, Petke and Jolley became exposed badly. Frankly, I don't like the guy's attitude. I was routing for LA because I would actually rather see Cobi Jones win than him (that is saying a lot!!). However, Hernandez made a vital (if inconsistent)contribution to this team while he was here. He also was a big part of the Rev's playoff run. After the season the Metros had, I can't see knocking Hernandez.
if the guy didnt think he was a super star he'd be good those long distance kicks werent that far off
The only difference between Metro Danny H and Revs Danny H was the coaching. The dearly departed OZ was afraid of him and Nichol took no crap. I can almost hear Steve nichol telling him "be a good lad now Danny and get rid of the pigtails".
why is it that hernandez looked like an idiot playing with the metrostars? looked like a car ran over his head and left tiremarks. now with the revs he had a normal haircut.......nice and clean.
Maybe its just the ghetto in me but I think he looked better with the corn rows... he got that lightbulb head thing going on now... can't be too popular with the ladies... but than again he is in NE now.
Your right, they weren't too far off. But I am happy we have Clint, Williams or Davis who are a lot more accurate. Maybe Hernandez had those cornrows because he wanted to be the MetroStars version of Sprewell? Tough attitude, trying to put everything on his shoulders, and help carry the team to victory? I dunno, but I sure do wish we had his old style of play on this team.
