    Okay, I'll bite.

Brasil d. Belgium- needs no explanation. Brasil's tendency to slack off at times against inferior competition might make it close, tho. What is Belgium even doing in anyone's 16-team tournament?

Mexico d. Turkey- Yeah, Turkey's a Bronze medalist and all, but call me skeptical. El Tri wins 2-1.

Holland d. Portugal. The Eternal Chokers beat Selecao Lite despite Scolari's work to improve Portugal.

Germany d. Czech Republic. Europe's greatest team beats the second-tier Czechs, but not easily.

Where are your other eight matches?

I'm kind of confused on this concept, if there is 16 teams, then why do you have only 8 listed?

I have brazil drawing the away game and then winning easily at home. Their skill level seperates them from the red devils.

In a great matchup up I have Mexico and Turkey 1-1 in Turkey and simply because of the altitude, 1-0 golden goal in the Aztec. Mexico advances.

This matchup depends on how the big stars of each team is health wise. In a high scoring series I have each team winning at home and Holland winning on pks.

In a huge upset, the Czech Republic over comes a home loss and eliminates Germany in Munich.

Do you want the winners of the next matches?

Brazil eliminates Belgium, 2-0, 2-0 - too much talent from the WC winners
Turkey upsets Mexico, 1-3, 3-0 - a away loss at Azteca, but Turkey piles it on at home while elevated by a patriotic crowd
Portugal eliminates Holland, 1-1, 1-0 - Portugal comes to life and holds their own against a storming offense
Germany eliminates Czech Republic, 2-0, 3-0 - Not much needs explaining, Czechs no match for Germany but not by much
Denmark upsets Argentina, 0-2, 3-0 - The Danes come back on aggregate to leave the South Americans shocked again
France eliminates Italy, 1-0, 0-0 - Excessive defensive style kills off Italy's chances of advancing, obscures mediocre French
United States upsets England, 2-0, 1-0 - Because I freakin' said so, it has absolutely nothing to do with reality
Ireland upsets Spain, 3-3, 1-0 - Goal fest in opening leg sets up defensive thriller in Ireland's home leg

I now see that you mean a two-leg elimination tournament. "Double elim" usually refers to the use of a loser's bracket to compensate for a number of teams that doesn't fit easily into a single elim format.

    1. BRA 3, BEL 0
    BEL 1, BRA 2

    2. TUR 1, MEX 1
    MEX 1, TUR 0

    3. HOL 2, POR 1
    POR 0, HOL 2

    4. GER 2, CZE 0
    CZE 1, GER 2

    5. ARG 3, DEN 1
    DEN 1, ARG 2

    6. FRA 1, ITA 1
    ITA 2, FRA 1

    7. ENG 2, USA 1
    USA 1, ENG 1

    8. ESP 3, IRE 1
    IRE 2, ESP 2

I have Mexico advancing, too, but if they draw 1-1 in Turkey, the 0-0 full time wins it for Mexico on away goals. No GG is necessary.

Ok for the next 8 games I have:

Argentina rely on the home crowd to overcome a weak display in Denmark. Close, but they make it thru.

Italy puts up a good fight but loses to france in pks.

I'm not sure of this, but I need an upset and I figure the US has the best shot so US wins, they actually pull off a 1-0 in England and hold off for a 0-0 in the US

Spain makes up for a poor showing in the game in the last WC and pretty much destroy Ireland. 0-0 in Ireland and 3-0 in Spain.

This is world cup, they have to go to GG and then PK's if neccesary.

You might have meant double elim, but home-and-home is more fun :)

BRAZIL vs BELGIUM: 3-0 in Rio, 1-1 in Brussels
Brazil takes an insurmountable lead at home and coasts to a draw in the 2nd leg.

TURKEY vs MEXICO: 1-0 in Istanbul, 0-0 in Mexico City
Both extremely hard-fought games, Turkey dominates the first leg but manages only one goal. The Mexicans dominate the second leg in the altitude but can't get past the resilient Turkish defense.

HOLLAND vs PORTUAL: 2-0 in Amsterdam, 1-2 in Lisbon
Holland wins easily at home, the Portuguese take an early 2-0 lead at the Stadium of Light but Van Nistelrooy hits one in the 85th to send the Dutch thru.

GERMANY vs CZECH REPUBLIC: 1-1 in Leverkusen, 1-1 in Prague, 5-3 on PKs
Germany dominates both legs but can't get past the resilient Czech defence before winning with machine-like PKs and a brilliant stop from Kahn.

ARGENTINA vs DENMARK: 3-0 in Buenos Aires, 1-0 in Copenhagen
No contest in BA, the Danes put up a tough fight at home but succumb.

FRANCE vs ITALY: 1-1 in Paris, 0-2 in Rome
How the hell is Italy the 14 seed? Nevertheless, Italy dominates both legs, the Frogs steal a draw at home thanks to a dubious PK call but never even put up a fight in Rome.

ENGLAND vs USA: 0-0 in Manchester, 0-1 in Foxboro
A bit of a heart call rather than a head call, I'll admit, but it's certainly possible. England dominates the first leg but is completely shut down by Friedel; the second leg is evenly-matched and very entertaining. Robinson and Howard both turn in spectacular performances in goal, but DeMarcus Beasley makes a fool out of Danny Mills and scores one for the Yanks shortly after halftime.

SPAIN vs IRELAND: 2-0 in Madrid, 0-1 in Dublin
The Spanish dominate the first leg, Robbie Keane gets one back for the Irish in Dublin but can't send them thru.

    Second round:
BRAZIL vs TURKEY: 2-0 in Sao Paulo, 1-2 in Istanbul
In the highly-anticipated renewal of this WC grudge match, Ronaldo scores all 3 Brazil goals, the Turks go out but not before beating the Brazilians at home.

HOLLAND vs GERMANY: 2-2 in Amsterdam, 1-1 in Munich, 4-5 on PKs
Another tense rivalry with spectacular play by both teams, and another perfect round of German penalty shooting.

ARGENTINA vs ITALY: 1-0 in Buenos Aires, 1-2 in Milan
Another classic matchup. Things are looking shaky for the Argentines down 2-0 in Rome with time running out but Ortega puts one past Buffon to send the South Americans thru on away goals.

USA vs SPAIN: 1-0 in Columbus, 0-1 in Madrid, 4-2 on PKs
Another shocking upset by the Yanks, Tim Howard completely shuts down the Spanish and Clint Mathis bags a goal in Columbus. Raul gets revenge on Brad Friedel in the Bernebau but Brad comes up huge in the PK round, making 2 superb stops.

    Semifinals:
BRAZIL vs GERMANY: 3-1 in Rio, 2-1 in Munich
The Germans wilt in the Brazilian heat and uncharacteristically give up 3 goals. The 2-1 win in Munich is not enough.

ARGENTINA vs USA: 1-0 in Buenos Aires, 1-1 in RFK
The US' cinderella run finally ends. Donovan scores at RFK for the Yanks, but it is too little too late.

    3rd place:
GERMANY vs USA: 1-1 in Berlin, 0-2 in Houston
After a 1-1 draw in Europe, the US takes a page from Brazil's book and puts the Germans in stifling heat, completely shutting their offence down.

    Final:
BRAZIL vs ARGENTINA: 1-1 in Sao Paulo, 1-2 in Buenos Aires
2 spectacular games, but the Argentines come out on top.

All these are over two legs...
GAME 1---1. Brazil vs. 16. Belgium (2-0 in Rio, 2-1 in Brussels - 4-1 agg)
This one is easy....Brazil win. They outclass everyone.

GAME 2---8. Turkey vs. 9. Mexico (2-1 in Istanbul, 1-1 in Mexico City - 3-2 agg)
Turkey are just a better side and play in a tougher part of the world. Their third place finish was no fluke.

    GAME 3---5. Holland vs. 12. Portugal (1-1 in Rotterdam, 1-1 in Lisbon, 4-3 PK's)
Two underacheiving countries. I'll take Holland just because the they beat the US in a friendly before the Cup and we beat Portugal.

GAME 4---4. Germany vs. 13. Czech Republic (1-1 in Berlin, 0-3 in Prague, 1-4 agg)
Germany always seem to pull matches out. But i'm taking the upset here. The Czech's have a LOT of talent.

GAME 5---6. Argentina vs. 11. Denmark (3-0 in Buenos Aires, 1-1 in Copenhagen, 4-1 agg)
Denmark gave Brazil a run for their money in 1998 but lost to England in 2002??? Argentina are good...they can prove it too.

GAME 6---3. France vs. 14. Italy (0-0 in Paris, 0-1 in Turin, 0-1 on agg)
Do I have to pick this one? Italy based on tradition.

GAME 7---7. England vs. 10. United States (2-1 in Manchester, 2-0 in Foxboro (ghost of Lalas strikes again - 2-3 agg)
I would take the US in a mild upset. England never seem to get it together when it needs to.

GAME 8---2. Spain vs. 15. Ireland (1-0 in Madrid, 0-1 in Dublin, 0-1 on PK's)
Ahh..the rematch. I'll take the Irish because they deserved to beat Spain in this past World Cup. But they still can't take penalties!

    Round 2:
Brazil v Turkey (3-0 in Sao Paolo, 1-2 in Istanbul, 4-2 agg)
Brazil outclass the Turks again. Turkey make it intersting in the second leg.

Holland v Czech Rep. (2-1 in Amsterdam, 0-2 in Prague, 2-3 agg)
Czech Rep do a wonderful job of containing Makaay and Van Nistleroy (sp?). Milan Baros scores twice in the second leg.

Argentina v Italy (2-0 in Buenos Aires, 1-1 in Milan, 3-1 agg)
Argentina are too much for the always underachieving Italians. D'Alessandro and Cavenaghi outclass and outplay the Italians.

USA v Spain (1-0 in Los Angeles, 1-1 in Barcelona, 2-1 agg)
Shocking result, John O'Brian scores the equalizer in injury time in the second leg to see the Americans through.

    Semi-Finals
Brazil v Czech Rep. (2-0 in Rio, 2-2 in Prague, 4-2 agg)
The Brazilians are just too good for the young Czechs. Ronaldinho scores twice in the second leg to put the Czechs away.

    Argentina v USA (1-1 in Buenos Aires, 1-1 in Foxboro, 2-3 PK's)
The biggest shock in football history. D'Alessandro misses a penalty and the Americans are living a dream.

    Third Place
Czech Rep. v Argentina (2-2 in Prague, 2-4 in Buenos Aires, 4-6 agg)
In the second leg, Argentina demonstrate the potential of becoming the next champion but fell short in the semi's.

    Final
USA v Brazil (1-0 in Foxboro, 0-2 in Sao Paolo, 1-2 agg)
Brazil outplayed the Americans in a very hostile enviorment in the second leg. Credit the US for coming this far because they have the potential to become that good.
