So I was looking at the Herbalife website just now (yeah, apparently their marketing works) to see what they were all about and I saw a link to some LA Galaxy stuff.

Once I clicked on through, I was shocked to see these Herbalife testimonials:

Joe Cannon and Chris Albright with their testimonials praising the wonders of Herbalife health products. And guess what? Both got traded to the Quakes and Revs, respectively. Maybe Cannon and Albright got traded because they got so hooked on Herbalife products they couldn't hang on to their own sanity

And Alexi...well...that's self explanatory. It's probably why the Galaxy got scheduled so many friendlies during the season :p

All jokes aside... if people fall for the "it gives me a competitive edge" or "my energy has really improved" routine, then they have about a 50 IQ level or 1st grade education. Who knows, maybe that krud will work on monks like SJ fans.

One time I took some Herbalife pills, ground them into a fine powder, and snorted it. I broke my elbow playing basketball that night because I could jump so high that I hit my elbow on the rim. Previously I could barely grab the rim.

After it healed, I was eager to get that kind of jump again, and this time I was ready for it. So I ground it up into the same powder, then watched the movie Requiem For a Dream like seven times to figure out that thing that they do with a spoon and a lighter. Then, after I got done staring at Jennifer Connelly for awhile, I used the spoon trick and injected the Herbalife powder directly into my arm. The result was a 46" vertical jump. I was dominating until midway through the first half I went down with a brain aneurysm.

Needless to say, I suffered mild permanent brain damage and so I post at BigSoccer where I feel right at home. The doctor said I was lucky - had I not gotten medical attention so quickly I might have lost even more brain cells and become a Chivas USA fan.

    That is so embarassing.

I wonder if these players received any compensation for lying about using Herbalife or if the team just made them do it.

What all this does for me is diminish my view of Joe Cannon. He tried so hard to make it look like he cared about the team when he said things like "he loves the Galaxy and wants to win championships with us". Comments like those put up next to comments like "it gives me a competitive edge" make Joe Cannon look like a bundle of sticks to me.

My company does a lot of work for Herbalife and I was there one day talking soccer with one of the higher ups. I asked him about the Galaxy thing an he said that Chris and Joe were both spokesmen from the Galaxy for Herbalife. SO I am pretty sure they were getting paid for their "Testaments" of Herbalife products.
