Ferencvaros player committed a stupid reckless challenge while already on a YC and was shown his second yellow. He knew right away. Stupid. Very stupid. Now they are down a man and down 5-4 on aggregate.

Wingo commits a stupid and poor challenge in the box, on the end line, when play was going no where. Rightful a PK and rightful a yellow card for Wingo. Falling apart for Ferencvaros now.

Wingo beaten at the end line, fouls inside the box, conceding a penalty and getting a yellow, with Pefok stepping up to maybe put this away.

He really wasn’t beaten per se. His teammate got smoked and Wingo came flying in from nowhere to make a stupid challenge. He had zero business sliding in. Just going to the end line and holding the guy up without flying into a tackle would have been suffice.

Wingo starting in the Europa League today vs Bayer Leverkusen.

Probably at right back, probably matched up with Diaby, who recently handed Joe Scally his toughest match of the season.

Holy heck, they're up 1-0 early. Little Wingo content so far.

Wingo makes the lung-busting run up the open right flank, and gets service just inside the box. Blasts toward far post, forcing a solid save by Hradecky in goal.

Palacios equalizes for Leverkusen. Attack came up the opposite side from Wingo, finished with a great shot.

Wingo has been very, very involved on the ball in the second half. However, Leverkusen is starting to materially have the better of play and Wingo has been caught way upfield. Probably coached to do so, but still.

Building out from the back disaster - turnover in their own third leads to Wirtz being wide open inside the box. Desperate recovery run by Wingo to block Wirtz is too late, and Wirtz finishes cleanly. Down 2-1. Wingo was in the right spot, open to receive a pass - would have been a miraculous play to block Wirtz.

Wingo turnover leads to a very good opportunity that Amiri puts over the top from near the penalty spot. Playing tired at this point.

Wingo starts in Europa League against Real Betis. Went behind 1-0 in the 17th minute.

Tied 1-1. I've been doing a little work and watching after it was 1-1. I haven't seen Wingo touch the ball. It's almost like there's a force field around him. Or maybe it's just he gets involved only when I'm not watching.

Haven't seen him before. He's a strapping lad, ain't he?

75th minute. Own goal by Wingo. Terribly unlucky (not just because I'm a YA homer--it was just very unfortunate). He had just unleashed a really amazing cross at the other end that nearly resulted in a goal. Betis comes the other way and gets a corner. Wingo is shielded by one of his own players in the box and can't see it. It bounces off of him and into the net. I'd have to see it again, but it's more of an unfortunate thing than some sort of terrible error, as far as I can see. Hope he bounces back. He seems like a player with potential.

No one else watching? Is this not on Peacock or Paramount Plus, or whatever?

I went back to see what happened to Carter-Vickers at Celtic and wish I hadn't.

93rd minute. Attack comes down the left (as it nearly ways), but the ball bounces to Wingo on the right, who wins a corner. The resulting corner is headed just over the bar by an attacker. The next minute they are caught on the counter and they give up a goal to lose 3-1

I can honestly say Wingo seems like a good enough attacker on the right. No idea at all why Ferencvaros insisted on almost always attacking down the left all game long.
