Molde have put up a fierce rally... down 0-2 and now up 3-2.

molde have turned this around. safe to say that this mls journeyman is fully capable here, which is perhaps a statement on how clubs value domestic talent vis a vis internationals

ugh a similar handball doesnt result in a molde pk, but ferenvacos gets the cheap/dumb penalty and converts

I wouldn't call Wingo a journeyman since he only played for Seattle and its USL team. But yes, over two years he didn't even crack 500 minutes for the Sounders.

Still, the Sounders have won the title two out of three years. What they're doing works. You can't really miss someone if you're thriving

It'd be something if a bad team like Chicago or Cincy sold him

I won't be so kind. Molde were robbed blind. The situations weren't even that similar.

The one not given for Molde was far clearer. Middle of the box, shot on its way, arm away from body, lower on arm.

Ferencvaros got one at the edge of the box, don't know if it was a shot or cross, & if it didn't hit the arm it would have just went into the body.

That ref was incompetent or something else.

3-3. Still very much up for grabs, but the road goals could prove valuable.

Molde dominated the last third of the game, while Ferencvaros bested them the rest. Molde's high press started forcing a lot of errors & they won in the air.

As for Wingo, he was one of Molde's weakest links. Shaky on what to do w/ the ball once he got it, & beat for speed a few times. I do think his spot is in minor jeopardy for the 2nd leg. Don't know the alternative.

You are wrong. Molde's is not a pen. The ball hit the arm of a falling player. There is no intend there. No pen. Ferenvacos' is a pen. The ball hit the left hand of molde's no.22. Pen.

You are so wrong. Regarding Molde's pen, ball hit the elbow of a falling player. He has no intend to make himself bigger. His arm is in a natural position for a falling person. No pen. Ferenvacos' is a pen. The ball hit the left hand of molde's no.22 inside the box. And he intentionally turn around. Pen.

The opposite of what you're saying is true.

There's no way Molde's player can get out of the way, it was questionable if it was in the box, and slim chance it would have scored.

Whereas the guy from Ferencvaros whipped his body around so part of it, an illegal one, far away from his body, would block a point blank shot.

PEN to Molde, not Ferencvaros. Poor discretion by you guys.

When we side fall or back fall, our instinct is to protect ourselves. In most case, we use our hand. When we do that, our hand will extend away from our body. There is no deliberately touches the ball. Thus, no pen to Molde.

Molde's no. 22 turn around because he try to avoid the ball hitting his hand. It is very difficult to tell which hand was hit by the ball. From the angle of referee, the ball hit his left hand which is away from his body. But from the angle of linesman, it seems like the ball hit his right. In this situation, VAR team will need to step in to check if the referee made a mistake award the penalty because they have more angles. If they found error, they will inform the referee to have a pitch side view. Since they didn't, it was a good call.

    Hence, you are wrong.

So... he hasn't been in the team sheet since Sept 23, which is five games he's missed. Safe to say he's been injured?

Solid defense and a very nice cross in just the first 5 minutes. Should have been in the goal, though wouldn't have counted due to a foul by the forward.

He was, and the game stayed entertaining, to me at least. Wingo showed some good tight dribbling, good one-touch passing. He got turned once in the second half, but the ensuing shot was missed, and it was as much good attack as weak defense. This was the first time I've seen him, but I'll watch the next match too to see if Molde is always that entertaining.

It went about how you'd expect for Wingo & Molde. Lost 4-1. Wingo partially at fault for one of the goals against. Could have been for more. Played conservative on offense. Still a few mistakes. Adequate in a tough environment that punishes you when you leave small openings.

Yeah. He was okay. He was vocal and helped organizing the defense. He kept the line pretty well. He made a couple semi-dangerous turnovers, but not outrageous. This game was nowhere near as entertaining as the Rapid Vienna game.
