Both Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho Gaucho are playing unbelievable football this season. Both are lightning fast, magnificent ballhandlers, deadball specialists, deadly passers, can dribble opposing players with ease. However, which would you prefer to have on your team? Why?

HAHA the entire question is implied! Anybody who prefers that buck-tooth kid over Henry is suffering from chronic demensia.

Ronaldinho may not be getting all the publicity Henry is getting, but I think he's playing just as well, on a worse team, than Henry. Henry is a tiny bit faster, Ronaldinho is a better dribbler, they can shoot about the same, probably about the same from dead balls, I'd give Ronaldinho a tiny edge passing. Its just that Henry is playing in a more publicized league, on a better team, so he gets more publicity.

Why is Henry better? Cuz he scores more? Not answering the question and being condesending doesn't really add much

  6. Yeah and the basis for your argument that Ronaldinho is better is because Henry gets more publicity. Doesn't really make sense.

Henry doesn't deserve this thread. It's an insult to him.

  7. Ronaldinho is an individual, no matter who he played for i think he'd play well because he doesn't rely on his teammates as much as others. The same could be applied to Henry but maybe not as much. Ronaldinho does his own thing. A bit like Okocha. As long as his team plays the right system to accomodate him he'll be ok. Bolton often play 4-5-1 simply to accomodate Okocha in the team so he can wonder around. Saying that because he plays for a worse team than Henry gives Ronaldinho extra kudos in this debate works against him.If Ronaldinho was as good as your rating him - Barca would be doing better than they are. I realise what your saying about him playing in a worse team though. Henry is murdering the Premiership this season and Arsenal would not be so dominant currently if he'd been injured for 3 months or banned for a few games. Btw Henry is more than a 'tiny' bit faster than him.
Henry means more to Arsenal than Ronaldinho to Barca cos without him they wouldn't be as good a team. Barca without Ronaldinho would still be sh!t.

Barca is on an incredible win streak due in large part to Ronaldinho's heroics. Barca would have good chance of kicking Arsenal's ass with the recent form they have been exhibiting.

While I do not believe Arsenal are invincible by any means, saying that anyone could "kick Arsenal's ass" right now is stretching credibility. Have you seen the form Arsenal has been exhibiting lately?

    Henry is the better player.

Ronaldinho plays for a crap team. I still wonder why he moved there???

Ronaldinho is a harder worker, and a better dribbler in the middle of the field. Currently Henry is deadlier than Ronaldinho, but Henry would not be as good as Ronaldinho without Arsene and Arsenal.

You are saying Henry wouldn't be as skilled as he is on another team? Maybe he would score less goals playing in another league, or with teammates he doesn't know as well. But do you really mean a player's skill is based on his coach and the team he plays for?

You seem to have a circular argument, and one that can't possibly be true. Henry is a great player, no matter if for Arsenal or in the local Sunday league. This doesn't work the other way either, of course. Barca's struggles do not speak to Ronaldinho's individual skills.

Maybe you mean Henry would not have developed into greatness without Arsene's guidance and the environment at Arsenal. Of course he _is_ great now, though. And Real Madrid, for one, believes he would continue to be a great player outside of Arsenal.

Last season Henry had 30 goals and 20 assists. This year basically everyobdy agrees he has stepped up his game even more. He is perhaps the best in the world right now. Ronaldinho is world-class, but not yet on this level. That said, maybe in 3 years 'Dino will be better than Henry is now.

Henry went to a good team in Juventus and didn't play well for various reasons. Ronaldinho went to a shite team in Barcelona and has them winning games left and right. I like both players, but while Henry is incredibly skillfull and fast Ronaldinho can do things with a ball that boggle the mind. I think you know who I voted for.

I agree, given time Ronaldinho will be as good/if not better then TH14, but right now, I don't know if there is any player in the world I would want over Henry. Both are very skillful players, but I think that Ronaldinho is more of a individual, whereas Henry is more team-oriented.

And then went to another good (but not great) team in Arsenal and is the main reason in them becoming world-beaters with the potential to have a season comparable to any that any team has ever had.

Tell you what; though... stick Ronny on the wing and we'll see if he keeps up that form.

I doubt Ronaldinho will be collecting 20-30 goals a season, but then he's not an out-and-out forward like Henry. Ronaldinho should be leading a team to Champion's League glory one day, but he'll be the man providing the assists and the occasional masterpiece of a goal.

Your spot on. What I meant was that they both have a great deal of skill in their game. Obviously Ronaldinho will never match Henry's goal scoring numbers, but Ronaldinho will definately setup more then Henry will, but one place where Ronaldinho will score more goals then Henry is on set pieces.

Who makes a large impact for thier team? Henry.

Who would you rather have on your team? Henry.

Which player has the most skills? Well that could be a toss up but I would say Henry.

Henry is the best choice, not taking anything away from Rondaldinho, it's just the way it is.

    Umm. No.

Seriously, as far as skills go? Ronaldinho is on another level. The guy's touches are constantly amazing - he can use any part of his body to make a good pass (seriously, supposedly made one with his back recently). What's most amazing is that the kind of stuff you think you only see in his commercials - occasionally pops up in a real game.

EDIT: Found this - 7th paragraph

Agreed. Furthermore, Henry has the edge in speed but Ronaldinho isn't too far behind in that department either.

In the BigSoccer matrix these comments are often noted as biased. Anyways I would take Henry over Ronnie simply becuase its my opinion that Henry is less vulnerable to injury.

You're entitled to your opinion on who is better but to say Ronaldinho is on another level is a bit of an exaggeration.
