Henry's up for for the the ESPY for top footballer in the world. He's up against Becks, Landon Donovan, and Zidane. For those who don't know, the ESPY's are ESPN's way of congratulating themselves on another year and also a way to actually have something for SportsCenter the day after the baseball All-Star game. Allegedly, you can vote for Henry at the link above, but it's not working at the moment.

Could someone teach ESPN how to spell "Premier" as in "Premier League"?

"ESPN: The Worldwide Leader In Sports (as long as they invole the USA in some way)"

This would surely take the sting out of being beaten by Nedved at the World Footballer of the Year awards....

don't worry Motterman, I cast a write-in vote for Cristiano Ronaldo. It is a travesty that he wasn't just given the award :)

I would watch him if he were playing against the Fire, simply because Chicago has a couple of guys who know how to break legs.

My favorite part of that page is the Beckham accomplishments:

"In 32 games for Real Madrid, scored three goals. Also scored two goals in six games for English national team."

Wow, a player of the year nominee for a whole five goals in 38 games? Rooney almost matched that in the group stage. And yes, I know Becks does more than score goals, but I thought that ESPN, in their typical half-assed way when it comes to soccer, picked the wrong thing to say for Beckham.

If it really is a people's choice award then why don't we just hijack it? I heard somewhere that there are 10,000 unique Arsenal fans registered in this forum. I know that not everyone will vote....but still....
